Loved the hotels we had in Florence and Sorrento. Numa in Rome was not a great experience. My bed had ants in it. The rooms were tiny. I lived the You Know Boat tour of the Amalfi coast in the last day. I was frustrated with our trains between cities because there was a know issue with delays, and our trains reservations could have been changed to avoid it, but our travel agent did not so that. It took us 5.5 hours to get from Florence to Naples instead of 3.

Hotel Reviews
Palazzo Alfani al David
Florence

The hotel in Florence, Palazzo Alfani al David, was really nice with a great location. We stayed in a one-bedroom apartment that was huge, giving us a lot of space which was very comfortable and enjoyable.

Villa Bellarosa Sorrento
Sorrento

Villa Bellarosa Sorrento was a lovely bed and breakfast. The couple who ran it were incredibly sweet and helpful, even going out of their way to pick us up when we couldn't get a cab. Their hospitality really enhanced our stay.

Numa Apartments Roma
Roma

Numa Apartments Roma was in a great location, but the self-service setup was not to my liking. Unfortunately, one of the beds had ants in it, which was quite unpleasant. We just dealt with it, but I would not stay there again.

The boat trip with Unifin on the last day was really nice and very well done. It was definitely our favorite part of the trip. The experience was fantastic and exceeded our expectations.

The family walk through Florence was fantastic. We had done it before and specifically requested it again because we enjoyed it so much. It was a great experience and lived up to what we expected.

Hi Renee,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I'm happy to hear that you loved your stays in Florence and Sorrento, and that you enjoyed the boat tour along the Amalfi Coast.

Regarding the train journey, as we discussed through the Traveler App during your trip, there were major rail reconstruction works taking place on the route during your travel dates, which caused significantly longer travel times than usual. We booked Business Class tickets for your family so that the journey would be as comfortable as possible despite the longer travelling time. When you reached out about changing to a different train, my Team and I have checked the available options right away. Unfortunately, at that point (one day before), changing the reservation would have required paying double the price, making it a very costly change.

I'm truly sorry to hear about your experience at the hotel in Rome. This is the first time we've ever received feedback like this about that property. I wish you had let me know while you were there. I would have contacted the hotel immediately to request a room change and make sure the issue was addressed as quickly as possible.

It was a pleasure helping you plan your family's journey through Italy, and I wish you and your family all the best on your future travels. Warm regards, Anita
