We just returned from a wonderful 3-week trip in Ecuador that included Quito, Amazon jungle, touring down the Andes to Cuenca, and Galapagos cruise. Our travel agent Alvaro did an excellent job helping us plan our trip - he was very knowledgeable, patient, and kind. All our guides were excellent, special shout-out to Christian, Sergio (aka Mike Tyson), and Pablo. Our favorite experiences were the Napo Cultural Center in the Amazon, biking/hiking at the Cotopaxi and Chimborazo volcanoes, and cruising the Galapagos.

We loved the setting, excursions, guide, and food. The grounds could use some maintenance. Hot and no AC but lots of fans kept us comfortable.

Staff is really great; standard room was nice but street noise a bit of a problem; the last night we lucked out with a free upgrade to a junior suite which was beautiful and quiet. Breakfast is quite good and includes fresh fruit and some local dishes.

This was our favorite lodging during our entire trip: the location is beautiful (you can take hikes around the property); the rooms comfortable, spacious, and with a lovely local aesthetic (and our own wood stove!); the breakfasts and dinner absolutely delish; the staff wonderful.

Cool old building with lots of character and local flavor; central location; lovely garden behind. Lots of street noise so try to get a room on a higher floor away from the street.

Located adjacent to a hillside, so above and beyond the urban noise/traffic/pollution - this was a great relief. Nice, big room; good dinner; great staff; loved being able to cool off in the pool and relax on the terrace; lovely local flavor aesthetic.

We loved the smaller size of the boat - max 20 passengers - and the variety of excursions (snorkeling 2x per day was awesome). We met the nicest, most interesting people, mostly younger but some older folks (like us) as well. Our guides were great, particularly Pablo, as were the rest of the staff. The boat is pretty basic (older, single hull so rocks, smallish rooms) and the food was pretty good (could use more variety, local flavor, and higher quality).
