This active day trip from Valencia takes you to the small town of Montonejos, a little-known spot with a beautiful swimming hole. You'll first visit the nearly 200-ft (60-m) Bridal Veil Waterfall, the perfect place for a refreshing swim. Then, make your way to the Blue Lagoon Hot Springs, an idyllic turquoise-hued pool that maintains a consistent temperature of 77°F (25°C) year-round. End the excursion by visiting the massive Pony Tail Geyser and exploring canyons and dams.

What you'll do

Not many know that just outside Valencia is a natural hot spring near cliffs, canyons, geysers, waterfalls, and rivers. This full-day excursion takes you to this little-known area to enjoy swimming, soaking, cliff-diving, and more. In the morning, you'll meet your guides at the central train station of Valencia, where they'll transfer you to your first stop, the beautiful Bridal Veil Waterfall. This cascade tumbles nearly 200 feet (60 m) into a deep pool perfect for swimming. If you're feeling brave, you can jump into the water from 10-ft (3-m) cliffs.

Next, you'll swap your refreshing swim for a healing soak and head toward the Blue Lagoon Hot Springs. The water maintains a consistent temperature of about 77°F (25°C) and is home to little fish that will gently exfoliate your feet. You have two hours to relax in the pools and explore the two nearby caves.

Before heading to the following site, you'll have time for lunch. During the high season (July and August), when the pools are busier, you can either bring your food picnic-style or purchase something at the hot springs' snack bar. During the low season, if time allows, you also have the option to eat at a highly recommended tapas bar in a nearby village.

After lunch, you'll make one final stop in the area's breathtaking canyons and dams. A highlight of the day is watching the impressive Pony Tail Geyser erupt from the rock. Before returning to Valencia in the early evening, enjoy some free time to simply relax in the canyon, enjoy the scenery, and chat with your guides.
