What you'll do

Begin your cycling adventure by meeting your friendly guide at the port of downtown Oslo, where you'll pick up your bike (e-bikes are also available). The guide will ensure you're well-equipped and comfortable before setting off on your three-hour cycle through the heart of the city. Your first destination is the pedestrian-friendly Rådhusplass (City Hall Square), the site of the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony. Here, you'll ride along the pedestrian-friendly paths of the Oslofjord, taking in panoramic views of the harbor, surrounding islands, and rolling hills as you listen to your guide share stories about Oslo's waterfront and maritime history.

Next, your guide will lead you to the historic Akershus Festning, where you can hop off your bike for a brief walk along the medieval and Renaissance fortress ramparts. This stop offers a glimpse into Oslo's past, from its military history to its architectural evolution. You'll then ride down Karl Johans gate, the capital's most famous boulevard. This iconic street is lined with significant landmarks, including the yellow-brick Storting Parliament building, the Nationaltheatret (National Theater), the country's oldest university, and the Det Kongelige Slott (Royal Palace).

Continuing the ride, you'll pedal through the lush gardens surrounding the Royal Palace, descending gently into the neoclassical neighborhood of Frogner. This scenic route leads you straight to the world-renowned Vigelandsparken (Vigeland Park), where you can appreciate the intricate marble and bronze sculptures that depict the human experience in all its forms.

Enjoy a long downhill ride back toward the Oslofjord for the final stretch, pausing to admire a hidden architectural gem built over the water. The excursion concludes with a ride through the vibrant shopping district of Aker Brygge, where modern shops and restaurants contrast with the historical sights you've explored.
