Olive Grove and Olive Oil Experience

Overview

Like many other countries in the Mediterranean, Greece has been producing olive oil for centuries. It's a rich culinary tradition that makes for a tasty and enlightening tour. This excursion begins about five miles (eight km) outside the ancient historical village of Nafplio, located at the upper-western end of the Peloponnese. It includes a visit to a local farm to see firsthand how the olive oil-making process works. There's also animal interaction in the form of a sheep-milking session.

Next is a visit to the olive groves themselves, where guests can relax with a picnic underneath the shade of the trees. Afterward, enjoy full lunch served in a family taverna. If you're visiting during harvest season, the experience includes picking olives in the orchard alongside the workers.
