Perfect as an accompaniment to a day of sightseeing on foot, this short and scenic experience begins when you step aboard a vintage wooden river launch and glide upstream in comfort, sipping on a glass of Prosecco as you pass riverside churches, gardens, and cricket grounds to reach the historic Pulteney Weir. The return journey offers another set of views along the opposite bank (and a second glass of Prosecco) before docking back at the starting point along Bath's Riverside Footpath.

What you'll do

Stroll down the meeting point along Bath's Riverside Footpath, meet your skipper and first mate, and step aboard the Lady Pamela, a vintage wooden river launch. You're off on a 30-minute out-and-back cruise along the River Avon, getting a different perspective on Bath's Georgian architecture as you make your way upstream to the gentle cascades of the Pulteney Weir—a series of V-shaped dams built in the early 17th century below the historic Pulteney Bridge. 

Choose to sit in the cabin (complete with picture windows) or stand on the deck, sipping a glass of Prosecco as you pass riverside landmarks like the ironwork Halfpenny Bridge, the 19th-century spires of St John the Evangelist Church, and the sprawling greens of Parade Gardens and the Bath Cricket Club. When you reach the historic weir, you'll turn around for the return journey (complete with a second glass of Prosecco), enjoying views of the opposite bank as you cruise back to the starting point.
