Overview

Discover the Aurlandsfjord and UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord, two arms of the Sognefjord, on a gentle, rigid inflatable boat (RIB) safari, starting from Flåm's inner harbor. Accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide, enjoy spectacular fjord scenery and insightful storytelling. The trip includes a stop in the charming village of Undredal, where you'll taste award-winning goat cheese at a local farm and may see the smallest stave church in Scandinavia.

What you'll do

Your adventure starts from Flåm's inner harbor, where you'll meet your charismatic guide. You'll gear up and then load into your RIB. The boats are small, fitting approximately 12 people, which ensures a more personal experience and allows you to get up close to the beautiful surroundings. As you set off through the fjords, your guide will share fascinating tales and local history, making the experience both educational and entertaining. You'll zoom past towering cliffs and over pristine waters.

On your way back toward Flåm, you'll make a stop and go ashore to visit the charming village of Undredal, nestled between tall mountains. Here, you'll be greeted by your host from a local cheese farm. This part of the excursion includes a short introduction to the traditions and production process of their award-winning goat cheese. You'll then have the chance to taste several types of cheese served with flatbread and jam—a delightful treat for foodies and a perfect way to immerse yourself in the local culture.

The Flåm Fjord RIB Safari and Undredal Cheese Tasting were amazing! Inga, our tour guide, was fantastic. The tour was quick, fun, and the cheese tasting in Undredal was delightful. It was one of my favorite experiences in Norway.
