What you'll do
Meet your instructor at Playa Mar Menuda (also known as Platja de la Palma) in time for a short safety briefing, basic paddling instruction, and to get outfitted with the kayaking and snorkeling essentials. You'll then be ready to hop into your kayak and begin gliding atop the Mediterranean waters. Your guide, a local expert, knows these waters intimately and will lead you alongside the rugged cliffs the Costa Brava is known for, sharing details about the region's natural history and coastal wildlife.
You'll enjoy a relaxed pace (suitable for beginners and families) and cover about 4 miles (6 km) as you pass scenic spots that may include Ses Illetes, Es Sot d'en Boada, and Sa Cova Esclafada. Along the way, you'll enter sea caves carved by centuries of wind and waves, and your guide will point out hidden coves and remnants of old stone paths. Midway through the excursion, you'll take a break at Cala Bona, a quiet cove ideal for swimming and snorkeling. Put on your mask and watershoes to discover Costa Brava's underwater world, teeming with colorful fish and marine flora. You'll have about 40 minutes here to snorkel and/or relax before continuing your paddle back along the coast.
Please note that the route may vary depending on sea and weather conditions.
