Hotel Albergaria do Calvário, Évora
Cozy boutique hotel with bright rooms, historic details, a restaurant, and a pleasant terrace
Overview
Located on the edge of the Old Town of Évora, Hotel Albergaria do Calvário takes a modern approach to its historic space. This building was once used for the Convent of Santa Helena do Monte Calvário's production of olive oil, and you can see remnants of its past in its arches and other details. The old city's ancient fortified wall borders the hotel, rooting it in a sense of place and history. Évora's most notable attractions, like the 13th-century cathedral, 1st-century Roman Temple of Diana, the goddess of the hunt, and the spooky Chapel of Bones, are all 15 minutes or less by foot.
The rooms and suites are cozy and comfortable, combining modern aesthetics with vintage furniture, Persian rugs, and patterned wall hangings. If you want some outdoor space, consider the Charming or Deluxe Double, which has a terrace. Bathrooms are marble and have bathtubs with removable shower heads, as well as bidets. The Family Apartment includes a living room and an equipped kitchen. For those who'd rather not spend the night in, you can grab a seat in the cozy dining room or on the terrace lined with olive trees and plants and enjoy a meal or cocktail at the ADC Food & Wine Bar.

Excellent location and service. The staff was outstanding!!! They provided information and help and there was always someone at the front desk. The outdoor area was very nice.

This was a perfectly placed hotel at the beginning of the old village. The hotel also had parking which is a huge bonus as there is almost no parking in the old village.
The staff are excellent and are happy to speak with you.
The decor is wonderful, a warm and inviting feel in the lounge, bar area and the outside courtyard.
Breakfast is very mediocre, unfortunately the cooked breakfast didn't seem to be freshly cooked.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed staying here. Read more

Dmitri is so accomodating and was so helpful with giving us information on Evora. We also showed up late but he was able to use his connections to call in a reservation for dinner on our behalf. Such a great guy!
