Overview
Kimkim's Take
- Centrally located, you're less than 100 feet from the Arena di Verona and a 5-minute walk to popular cultural sites, including Casa di Giulietta and its iconic balcony.
- Pedestrian street Via Mazzini is around the corner, where you can find high-end shops, boutiques, and cafés.
- The 37-room Hotel Giulietta e Romeo offers a range of room types, including economy, standard, superior, suite, triple, and family, accommodating up to four guests.
- Four additional rooms—just down the street—have more space and a touch more privacy for those looking to upgrade.
- The hotel has electric bikes for hire (subject to availability) so you can get out and further explore the city (and maybe visit the shores of Lake Garda).
- Past kimkim guests praise the daily buffet breakfast.
- If arriving by train, the station is outside the historic center, though it's a pleasant 25-minute walk once you pass the 16th-century Porta Nuova gate.
- There isn't an in-house restaurant, but there is 24-hour room service available.
Authenticity
Keeping on theme with Verona's romantic ties to Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet," you'll find printed florals and pink accents in some rooms, while two of the property's larger "residences" are named for the star-crossed lovers. (There are also proposal packages you can upgrade to and romantic "surprises" you can schedule: rose petals and Prosecco, to name a few.) Nods to the city's history are also evident in the enlarged canvas prints of historic attractions that Verona is known for, as well as its operatic connections, where two of the residences, Tosca and Aida, are named for operas integral to Verona's opera season.
Location
Hotel Giulietta e Romeo is primely located a minute's walk from the iconic Arena, down a narrow cobblestone street replete with shops and dining options. Walk a little farther, and you're in Piazza Brà. Head in the other direction, about 5 minutes on foot, to arrive at Piazza Erbe and its attractions, as well as the famous balcony of Casa di Giulietta. If you have a rental car, Lake Garda and the renowned wine region of Valpolicella can be reached in under an hour.
Rooms & Bathrooms
There are 37 rooms at Hotel Giulietta e Romeo, divided into six categories, from the Extra Small Room to the more spacious Suite Callas (complete with a terrace that overlooks an alley and accommodates 2-3 guests), and 20 steps down the street are four "residences," offering significantly more space and a touch more privacy. Rooms are modern with romantic touches. Some have floral-themed wallpapered accent walls and dark rose throw pillows or beds, and most have neutral walls, gauzy drapes, and polished wood floors. Some rooms have enlarged prints of Verona landmarks. Bidets can be found in most en suite bathrooms.
Amenities
The hotel features a 24-hour gym, a coffee shop and bar, a garage and laundry service (for a fee), and bike rentals for a daily charge, allowing you to discover more of Verona at your own pace. The buffet breakfast (not included in the room rate) served each morning is a highlight, consistently praised by guests for its quality and variety.Family-Friendliness
Families staying at Hotel Giulietta e Romeo can take advantage of the two family room options that sleep up to four guests (not including a baby cot for a small fee and subject to availability) and "residences" with significantly more space for the kids to roam and parents to relax (consider the Giulietta or Aida options that accommodate up to five people). Children up to three years stay free in a bed with their parents, and kids seven and older are charged as adults. There's also a babysitting service on request.Like what you see?

Traveler Reviews

The Hotel Giulietta e Romeo in Verona was fantastic. It had excellent amenities and was very close to all the action and the beautiful old town sites. Though the train station was a bit further away, cabs were available if necessary, or it's a pleasant walk of about half an hour. This hotel definitely stood out as the best among the ones I stayed at during my trip.
