Adam Warszawski

During several years of my Icelandic adventure, I worked in hotels and got to know the local tourism really well. But most importantly, I've had the chance to explore countless amazing places across Iceland, from iconic landmarks to hidden gems. This incredible country never stops fascinating me!

I believe that holidays are the most valuable part of the year, they're our precious free time. Everyone has their own preferences and travel style, and I always keep that in mind when planning trips to make them special. I understand travelers' needs well because I’ve worked with them in hotels, and now I work as a guide and trip designer. Most of all, I’ve been, and will always be a traveler in Iceland myself.

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"Tailor-made trips all around Iceland, both self-drive and guided tours. Hiking, nature and all kind of adventures are my specialties. I will be more than happy to share with you everything I know about Iceland."

How did you get involved in travel?

"Traveling became my passion quite unexpectedly. During my student years, I decided to hitchhike to Spain because I couldn't afford any regular way of transportation. I soon understood it's one of the best ways to meet locals! My inside adventurer woke up, asking for more and more travel, so I went to the Balkans, Caucasus, Siberia, Mongolia, China, Middle East, Central Asia, Iceland and much more.

My passion naturally evolved into a profession. I'd been working in hotel industry, I became a guide book author and tour leader.
Today, I'm pleased to compose customized trip plans for travelers coming to Iceland."

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"The first day of Meradalir eruption (August 2022). We went there spontaneously, just to see the new volcanic eruption during its first hours. The ground was shaking, fresh lava was filling the valley... We could feel the heatwaves on our faces watching this unbelievable show of creation . The most hypnotizing experience in my life. Rough and beautiful!"

We had a wonderful trip, much of it made possible made possible by Adam, who curated a great week for us. I confess to having been skeptical about whether having a planned trip -- as opposed to doing it ourselves -- was worth it. I have for decades planned vacations and travel. Done the research, found the hotels and restaurants, and made decisions about where to go and when. I enjoyed that challenge. But, it takes a lot of time and effort.

We had planned a cruise from Iceland and our calendar freed up a little and we thought it would be fun to see a little bit of Iceland on our own. The problem was I didn't have the time available to plan . . . . so the research I did was to find a great company that could do the planning for us. That brought us to KimKim -- and Adam. We could not have been more pleased by the entire experience. We told Adam what we liked and the time we had and a complete itinerary appeared not long thereafter.

Adam far exceeded my abilities to have planned this by myself, and I have done it for years and am good at it. Driving maps, places to stop, tours along the way day after day, great hotels, super restaurant recommendations -- he had it all for us. Having everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, on our iPhone was a benefit that was enormously helpful for daily travels. Adam found places I probably would have skipped (Westman Islands and Heimaey, for example) and tours that I probably would have bypassed and that was one of the huge benefits of his services. He knew what was worth it to see and do and what was less exciting.

Most amazingly -- our daily plans: the route, the places to see, the tours, the sights along the way were planned so we were never rushed and saw everything as planned with little waiting or "gaps" in the day. Perfectly planned.

Adam provided excellent service throughout. About a week before we left for Iceland, we learned that we would need to cut our cruise short and hop off the boat halfway through the trip. We e-mailed Adam and he made all the arrangements for us to do that and planned a days worth if sightseeing for us in the area before we hopped on a plane to Reykjavik. He was always promptly responsive to texts and e-mails along the way as well.

We had a great trip. Thanks, Adam.

We had the best time exploring Iceland with our family of 4! Adam did an amazing job helping us plan our trip that made sense for the routes we were taking while also keeping our two children, ages 8 and 11, in mind. He recommended great restaurants, optional stops and activities that our family really enjoyed. Having a full itinerary, with all the bookings for activities, spas, hotels, car, etc, really helped take the stress out of planning and made traveling a breeze.

We were traveling specifically for the total solar eclipse, and we booked relatively late when many accommodations and activities were already filling up. Adam still managed to find us some really great accommodations, which we were so grateful for.

The eclipse day itself was challenging because there were many unknowns around traffic, crowds, weather, and how much sightseeing we could realistically do. Adam kept us updated and informed throughout and helped us understand our best options as things unfolded. We ended up seeing a lot that day on the Snaeffelsness Peninsula, but ultimately the weather led us back to the hotel for the eclipse viewing and it worked out perfectly!

Our itinerary was a little packed for us, especially with the girls dealing with jet lag the first few days, so we ended up missing some of the planned stops. However, we really appreciated having everything laid out for us. The Kimkim app was easy to navigate, and we loved being able to see the daily plan, all the stops, drive times, recommendations and details all in one place. Adam was very patient throughout the planning. I probably asked him 1000 questions, and he never once seemed bothered! He was always responsive, helpful and willing to talk through options.

Some of our favorite activities were visiting the Blue Lagoon upon arrival to Iceland, soaking in the Fontana Stream Baths and eating the rye bread while on the geothermal bakery tour, seeing real lava at the Lava show, riding Icelandic horses, and hiking on a glacier on the Katla Ice cave tour! We had an unforgettable family trip and would absolutely recommend Adam and kimkim to anyone planning a trip!

Also the guy at the front desk was confused and tried to make us pay. When I threatened to call the support line he finally figure out. Also there was not a refrigerator in the room. The entire experience was fabulous. The only reason I gave KimKim just 4 stars was because of a mix-up at the very beginning of our trip. Another guide picked us up at the airport (ahead of Adam) and was brusque about not being our guide. I had talked to Adam for months ahead of time, planning this trip, and was in communication with Adam even as we landed in Iceland. But when we descended the escalator, there was Svarnen (?) waiting with a sign in his hand that had my name on it. All was eventually sorted, but we found those first few moments odd and uncomfortable.
