Hi! I’m Cathy, and I’m excited to help you create the perfect trip!

I was born in the heart of Bourgogne, France, I’ve always had a love for adventure. During my studies, I had the chance to explore different regions of France, like Auvergne, where I fell in love with hiking. My travels then took me to Ireland, where I spent a joyful year surrounded by green landscapes and adorable sheep. After that, I lived in Canada for six months, where I embraced hiking, enjoyed local food, and made amazing memories.

Each of these adventures has strengthened my passion for discovering new cultures, experiencing beautiful landscapes, and sharing the joy of travel!

How did you get involved in travel?

"Ever since I was young, I travelled frequently with my parents. Later, my studies opened up opportunities to explore new places and meet people from around the world. It was during that time that I realized travel would become a significant part of my life. Now, I not only plan trips with family and friends, but it's also my career!"

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"My first solo trip to Ireland was an incredible experience that allowed me to truly immerse myself in the beauty of the country. The people are so warm and welcoming, and the scenery is absolutely stunning, my phone is now filled with breathtaking landscapes. Without a doubt, Ireland has captured my heart!"

We are so happy that we decided to book our 10 day visit to Ireland through KimKim. We worked with Cathy and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. We had never visited Ireland before but we had a few places in mind that we knew we wanted to visit. We provided that list to Cathy along with the dates that we wanted to travel and Cathy and her team filled in all the blanks. The hotels that were booked for us were incredibly nice and centrally located to the town center. Cathy even managed to find hotels for us with king beds for every single stay (my husband is very tall). Everything was taken care of before we arrived including booking our rental car and any events/attractions that were part of our itinerary. The private tours of the Ring of Kerry with Aodán at The Killarney Touring Co. and the Dingle Peninsula with Mossie at Mossie's Tours that Cathy selected for us were the absolute highlights of our trip! We also thoroughly enjoyed the sheep dog herding demonstration that they booked for us at Killary Sheep Farm - we would have never thought to do that on our own - but it was so amazing to see in person. We had mentioned to Cathy that we wanted to avoid the overly touristy spots like the Blarney Castle and The Cliffs of Moher and she instead booked for other stunning castle tours and planned time at the Kilkee Cliffs and the Kerry Cliffs for us instead. We practically had the cliffs to ourselves when we visited - mission accomplished! The 'Road Book' that was sent to us just prior to the trip outlined every detail and had recommendations for restaurants and places to see in every town that we stayed in or drove through. I highly recommend planning a trip with KimKim and especially working with Cathy - we had the vacation of a lifetime!

Hi Kelly,

Oh wow, thank you so much for your incredibly kind words! Reading your review truly made my day. 😊

Creating unforgettable trips and helping travelers discover the very best of Ireland is exactly why I love what I do, so it means the world to hear that you had such a wonderful experience.

It was an absolute pleasure planning this journey with you. I loved tailoring the itinerary around your interests and finding experiences that felt authentic and special, from the beautiful cliff walks away from the crowds to the sheepdog demonstration at Killary Sheep Farm. I'm especially delighted to hear that Aodán and Mossie were highlights of your trip, they are both fantastic guides and wonderful ambassadors for Ireland.

Thank you as well for trusting me and my team with all the details of your adventure. Knowing that the hotels, tours, recommendations, and Road Book helped make your trip seamless and enjoyable is incredibly rewarding.

Ireland has a special way of capturing people's hearts, and I'm so happy that you were able to experience its beauty, culture, and warm hospitality. It was a pleasure working with you, and I hope the memories from your journey will stay with you for many years to come.

Thank you again for your lovely review and recommendation. Wishing you and your husband many more amazing adventures ahead, and hopefully we'll have the opportunity to help you plan another trip someday!

We were excited for Kimkim to help us out with our planning for our Ireland trip. We were expecting a local expert and high level of concierge support. Cathy was part of Highpoint Holidays - which is a travel agent based in France. Cathy was NOT local to Ireland, although they claimed that they had local experts. The service we received was about average for a non-local travel agent. The places that were booked were ok, the hotels were decent and met our expectations - but we could have probably booked them ourselves. Two of the planned activities could not be scheduled - our dinner in Dublin and the food tour in Kinsale. We were reimbursed for those items - but were disappointed. We ended up booking our own food tour. We ended up NOT being able to attend the hurling match in Galway, because there was no adequate car service to get there. The drivers for the Giants Causeway and Dingle peninsula were just that - just drivers, not really private tour guides. A gruly local Irish travel agent, would likely have been able to advise our activities and make recommendations much better than what we got. While all the acommodations were ok, it was not the high end local concierge service that we thought we paid for -- we could have actually done most of the research ourselves and booked the trip on-line, likely for cheaper than we paid for. We still enjoyed the trip very much, because we were able to adapt and plan a lot of it ourselves - not sure we'll use this service again in the future for the price paid.

Loved this hotel. It was right in downtown Kinsale - EVERYTHING was in walking distance! The downside is there is no parking and no place to even temporarilly park to unload your luggage without blocking the main street.

The room was very nice. The hotel is on the main street and there was a true Irish wake on one of the nights we stayed there - so the street noise was VERY loud until about 3AM. Tough to sleep.
Countryside Retreat Dingle
Dingle

This was a place off the beaten track and quirky is a really good description of this place. It is NOT within walking distance of Dingle and to take a taxi was about 30 pounds one way. It is an old farmhouse that has been renovated. The bedrooms are upstairs. It worked for our purposes.

Authenticity & Character
Definitely old - there was an old farmyard next to it and cow pastures out back.
Location
Farther out from Dingle than we were expecting
Cleanliness & Comfort
There were dead bugs all over the windowsills. For an Air B&B - the kitchen supplies were on the lower side of adequate. There was a washer (but we didn't use it) - as there seemed to be a water pressure issue.
The Stone Cottage

The owner if this Air B&B was so very nice and accommodating. The directions provided by Highpoint Holidays put us in a cow pasture! There was a washer and dryer available (which was perfect since we had just come off of 7 days of hiking). It was a very quiet neighborhood near Castlebar. Loved it!

The room that we had was really nice, large and plenty of space. The issue we had was the hotel was pre-paid. They took our credit card at the desk for "incidentals" similar to hotels in the United States - so we didn't think anything of it. They ended up charging us $600+. Then they said they made a mistake, so the refunded us. Then they said they made a mistaket with the refund - and - ended up charging us again. Since we paid with a third party (through Kimkim) - we had to go through them. Both Kimkim and us were unsuccessful in getting the charge reversed. We ended up going through our credit card company. It was a very stressful situation and the hotel manger that we dealt with was very rude and didn't listen to our explanations. While the accomodations were nice, the bar was nice, and the restaurant was decent - be wary of how they charge you.

This would have been amazing, if the weather had cooperated. The driver was nice, but very old. He knew the tour areas to stop and take us to. But it was a bit scary to be driving with him. He also ended up hitting his car on a wall. What we were able to see was quite nice. Ended up cutting our tour a bit short, because we were a bit uncomfortable with his driving. Thank you, Katie, for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. I'm glad to hear that you ultimately enjoyed your trip and were able to make wonderful memories in Ireland.

I appreciate your comments and would like to address a few points. While I am not Irish, I lived in Ireland for many years and have extensive experience planning trips throughout the country. In addition, I work closely with local partners and suppliers to create authentic experiences for our travelers.

Throughout the planning process and during your trip, I remained available to answer questions and assist whenever needed. My team and I also worked hard to help resolve the hotel issue in Belfast as quickly as possible.

Regarding the accommodations, the itinerary was carefully designed to match the budget range and preferences discussed during the planning process. While higher-end properties were certainly available, they would have required a higher overall trip budget.

I'm sorry that some activities could not be confirmed due to availability constraints. In each case, alternative options were proposed, and when those did not meet your preferences, we arranged refunds promptly. We always strive to be transparent and flexible when unexpected availability issues arise.

I also appreciate your feedback regarding the drivers and guided experiences. We work with trusted suppliers and have received positive feedback from many travelers, but I will certainly share your comments with our team and partners as we continuously look for ways to improve.

Thank you again for your review. Feedback like yours helps us refine our services and better set expectations for future travelers. I wish you many more wonderful adventures ahead.

Warm regards,

Cathy

We had pre-purchased vouchers for all of our planned stops, which I highly recommend b/c we were able to bypass several lines for ticket purchasing. We even took a random exit advertising Cahir Castle, which happened to have free admission on Wednesdays! In Killarney, we stayed at the Killaran House for 2 nights. Breda and her staff were exceptional! Our private guided tour of the Ring of Kerry was one of our trip highlights. Martin O'Riordan with M.O.R. Executive Travel IS THE BEST TOUR GUIDE. We all loved him. We took a horse & carriage tour of Killarney National Park & Castle (which was within walking distance of the Killaran House). Then, we drove to Doolin and toured the Cliffs of Moher, which were breath-taking. Our last top of the day was Galway (Hyde Hotel). The next day we drove to Belfast and dropped off the rental car. (I'm so glad we had a rental car - it gave us much more freedom.) A private transfer driver was waiting on us. (Cathy did a great job arranging all of our transportation needs!) We checked in to the Leonardo Hotel and then visited the Titanic experience. We had another private tour of the Antrim Coast and the Giant's Causeway. (We all agreed that we liked the private tours much better than the guided bus tour.) Cathy booked our flight to Inverness, Scotland from Belfast and arranged our transportation to/from the airports. She also booked our Loch Ness boat tour, our day trip to the Isle of Skye, and our train tickets from Inverness to Stirling to Edinburgh. Traveling by train was very easy and our lodging at the Redcliffe Hotel in Inverness included a wonderful view of Inverness Castle. Our lodging in Edinburgh (Apex Grassmarket Hotel) also included an incredible view of Edinburgh Castle. We felt really spoiled by Cathy. My family was very grateful for Cathy's expertise and knowledge in planning our trip to Ireland and Scotland. She made our vacation easy to navigate, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Ireland and Scotland.

This family heritage trip to Ireland trip exceeded our expectations. From the pick ups to the tour guides everything went perfectly. Carolina from Silverbus was our driver throughout the trip. From Waterford to Doolin to Dingle to Dublin her driving was phenomenal, she was on time and she was very respectful of our needs. She took us to a beautiful church and took some wonderful pictures for our family. She was very accommodating when we asked her to stop at the Cliffs of Mohr because our boat trip to the cliffs was cancelled due to the weather. She was polite and conscientious to all our needs

The walking tour of Waterford was wonderful. I think is name was Sean was knowledgeable and witty. The private Waterford Crystal tour was something we would have never done on our own, but it was amazing. One of the carvers took the time and explained to my daughter-in-law his craft on a personal level. There was also just enough free time to explore the museums in the Viking triangle and make it personal for everyone.

Dingle was a magical experience for us because of our Slea Head private tour with Dora as our guide. It was a cold and rainy day. Dora was so positive and so invested in making our experience special. I told her my husbands grandmother was from Dingle. I showed her the house, the cemetery and her name. By the end of the day, using her contacts, asking around in the Blasket Island museum and the pub she took us for lunch, we were at his grandmothers family homestead. We met distant cousins and she created a day we will cherish forever!!

In Doolin We took an Aran Island tour with Ollie’s Tours. Simon and Cearbhuil were our guides. Simon’s history and archeological knowledge were amazing. Cearbhiul’s person-ability and humble nature made us feel welcomed and warm. We were a bit disappointed because we couldn’t see the Cliffs of Mohr by boat due to the storming weather but we enjoyed the entire day. The tea and scone portion was great. We were able to chat with a local and get a glimpse of what life is like on the island.

Dublin was great too. Although a big city, the planned activities were great. The Epic museum was great. The planned appointment with the genealogist was a unique and fascinating part of the trip. Maura was excellent. She was fully invested in helping us find info about my husbands grandmotherWe probably would not have chosen Guinness but enjoyed the tour. St. Patrick’s tour was great. We loved doing it on our own while using the audio tour as our guide. The Landsdown Dinner Theater was great. I love how it was not only music and dance, but it incorporated the history of music and dance in the show. Our only complaint was it was 20 min. From our hotel and transportation was not factored in.

All in all, our experience with Kimkim was amazing. I would highly recommend their expert staff. Cathy was in total contact with us the entire time before we left. She assured us that everything would run smoothly. She is an asset to your company and I would definitely refer your company to anyone who is looking for a unique and private vacation. A++ to everyone involved in making this trip possible!!!

It sounds like you made the most of every stop, from Glasgow to Oban, Inverness, the Isle of Skye, and Edinburgh, what a beautiful journey to celebrate such an important moment together. I’m especially happy you enjoyed the mix of activities, from the scenic train rides to the walking and food tours, and that your stay in Oban was a highlight as well.

It was a real pleasure helping you plan this trip, and I’m so glad everything came together in a way that felt both exciting and well-paced for you.

Wishing you both all the very best, and I hope Scotland will always hold a special place in your memories!

This was a bad experience. When we were shown the room I noticed ear plugs and when I asked about the noise issue the response was that it should be ok for a Wednesday night. The yelling on the street and the music was so loud and did not end until after2. The street cleaners started at 5:45 AM

The hotel looks wonderful. When we arrived we were welcomed by staff. However the room was a disappointment. We could hear the band playing and I called the desk after 11 and they responded in a way that was not very helpful. Also the room was obviously a smoking room and had a strong cigarette smell. We had a family apartment for three nights and loved that adults and kids had our own bedrooms and bathrooms, laundry was helpful (although I think I used dishwasher pods in the washer...oops), spacious family area and nice green space all around; we also loved that we were just a mile from town and and the national park - beautiful area for walking

The Connacht Hotel

Great breakfast, loved the family room setup, loved the pool, but reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is pool closed to kids at 7 or 8 pm and since it stays light so much later in Ireland in summer we had to hustle to make it back on time to use the pool. We weren't in Ireland for the pools, but my son needs to swim daily.

Cathy was very responsive and sensitive to our travel needs. She took a great amount of care and fine tuning of our itinerary. Cathy heard our needs and made an itinerary that met them! All of our accommodations were lovely and in country travel was easy because of Cathy! Cathy is going to take a lot of the cognitive and emotional labor that goes into planning a trip and we're so glad we booked with her! You can trust her to plan a wonderful trip.
