Peruvian food, culture, and history aren’t just things I love—they’re a part of who I am. As a proud Cusqueñian, I carry my roots with pride and love sharing my culture with others.

I've lived and worked in the U.S., where I made amazing friends and had some great experiences. Before that, I worked on cruise ships, which gave me the chance to travel all over the world and see so many different places.

I’ve also explored Peru from top to bottom—north to south—and with every trip, I fell more in love with my country. That’s why I decided to settle back in Cusco, the place where I was born.

All these adventures taught me how important great service really is. I found my passion for travel—and for helping people create unforgettable journeys of their own.

My goal isn’t just to plan trips—it’s to help others fall in love with Peru the same way I did.

How did you get involved in travel?

"I started working in tourism at a young age while I was finishing university. I was always fascinated by the stories my clients shared about their travels, and I dreamed of exploring the world myself. So when the chance came to work on a cruise ship, I didn’t think twice—I jumped at the opportunity!

That amazing experience opened the door for me to work in the USA, which I was thrilled about. I made great friends there and really enjoyed my time.

After all my adventures abroad, I felt a strong pull to reconnect with my roots. So I traveled around Peru and completely fell in love with my country all over again. That’s when I knew—I wanted to settle down here in Cusco and share my passion for travel with others.

Now, I get to do what I love every day: helping people create perfect, personalized trips that show off the magic of Peru.

The trip itself was seamless. Our drivers and guides were always on time and communicated well. In addition to the obvious highlight of exploring Machu Picchu, other highlights included our ATV tour to Maras and Moray and our Michelin-quality lunch at Hacienda Sarapampa.

We really loved this hotel. The rooms were great but the highlight was walking out in the morning and being surrounded by the Andes mountains. The bungalow style buildings were very attractive and well-maintained.

Ollantaytambo is a very cute town with lots of good restaurants and shopping. It is a bit challenging to get to, but I believe that is true for Peru in general.

Our entire trip was well planned. We asked for a change in itinerary and the local tour operator really was flexible with accommodating our request. Our guide David in Cusco was really great. He was patient, explained all the history and culture and we will be sure to ask for him if we return! Our guide Gilmer for the Humantay hike was also excellent - very patient with our (slower of course) pace and explaining the history. Overall it was well organized trip focus and well worth it. Liz Karen was fantastic and thorough in planning out my itinerary, and all the guides and drivers were wonderful! They were reliable and helped me with every stage of my trip. I didn't have much time to acclimate so those helped. Javier was my guide for my circuit at Machu Picchu and provided a lot of interesting info about Incan culture. If you plan to hike Huayna Picchu, I suggest taking the 8 am slot because I took the 10 am slot and it was hotter and I got dehydrated from the intense climb. The guards also close the HP trail at 1 pm so you'll have more time to summit and not feel rushed if you take the first entrance. Pablo was our terrific guide at Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain and helped us with nose spray and trekking poles to adjust to the altitude. It was worth the views! I would've needed more time to acclimate so I'm glad I chose Palccoyo and not Vinicunca (but I'd love to visit there as well). Lastly, driver Dionicio was fantastic and took me around Cusco to the Inca Museum, Cristo Blanco, and an alpaca textile shop, as well as a restaurant where they served cuy and had a great view of the city. The hotel staff at Tika Wasi were very helpful and friendly and assisted me with ordering food delivery when I was tired after my day tours. Watch out for unauthorized taxi drivers at Lima Airport and only use the free shuttle to the hotel! From start to finish, Peru was magnificent and I'd love to return! Thank you to kimkim and Andean Travel for a great experience!

Comfortable and clean for my one night there, and it's located very close to the train station! I walked from the hotel to the thermal baths, and that was very relaxing after a day at Machu Picchu!

We chosea standard room which comes with no fan! I highly recommend upgrading to a comfort room - we got lucky 2 of 3 nights with the weather but it could be miserable if we were off by one night even. This is a very unique hotel in that the entire room is exposed to the jungle...no nets even. So cicadas moths and everything else can be in your room. That took a bit of getting used to...but it also means macaws wander in to the breakfast area to steal banana bread.

This hotel is just aesthetically gorgeous. Each cottage is decorated beautifully. The hotel sits in the most lovely gardens. We saw many many orchid species. If you bird this is heaven - saw the cock of the rock, Andean motmot, a brilliant barbet...the list goes on and on. And the restaurant is extremely fine! Definitely our favorite day in Peru!

Fair warning - the ride there and back was rough rough roads and its long. The upside is that there is a family of condors that lives up at the cliffs and we were lucky enough to get a fly by at eye level! Very special.

From that point on, Liz and the Kimkim team went above and beyond. Liz had to step into a trip she hadn’t originally planned and make sure everything was rebooked and confirmed. She was incredibly responsive and made us feel that we were being taken care of. Once we arrived in Peru, everything ran seamlessly. We loved all of our hotels, our guides were knowledgeable and engaging, and every transfer and transportation arrangement was on time.

There were so many memorable experiences. We loved the farm experience where we learned about traditional cooking and enjoyed a Pachamanca lunch. Lunch high in the Andes surrounded by mountains and llamas was another unforgettable experience.

We also had a fantastic time in Cusco with our guide, Natalie. She was knowledgeable, fun, and made our time there even more special.

One of the biggest highlights of the trip was hiking the short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. A few people in our group struggled with altitude sickness, and our guides were incredibly patient, attentive, and helpful. We were also surprised with an amazing freshly prepared lunch halfway through the hike—definitely not what we expected while hiking the Inca Trail! Reaching Machu Picchu after the hike was an experience we will never forget.

What could have been a very stressful situation before our departure turned into a fantastic trip. We really appreciate how Liz and Kimkim stepped in, took ownership, and made sure we had the experience we had been looking forward to. We would absolutely recommend Liz and Kimkim.

Beautiful and peaceful hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, the food was great, and they had nightly entertainment that our group really enjoyed. The one thing I wish I had understood beforehand was the location. If you’re using the hotel as a base for day trips and traveling to Machu Picchu, there can be a lot of driving. We encountered quite a bit of traffic and ended up spending more time in the car than we expected. Knowing that now, I might have chosen to stay in Ollantaytambo instead. That has nothing to do with the hotel itself, though—the hotel was fantastic and we really enjoyed our stay.

The food was delicious, and all of our dietary restrictions were accommodated. We were especially impressed that they could prepare such a wonderful multi-course meal right on the trail. It was completely unexpected and made our Inca Trail experience even more memorable.

Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Peru thanks to the planning and execution of the KimKim team and associated travel guides. Liz allowed me to curate a trip that was family friendly for our young children while also allowing for adventures that the adults would enjoy as well, exploring history, cuisine, and local culture.
