Peruvian food, culture, and history aren’t just things I love—they’re a part of who I am. As a proud Cusqueñian, I carry my roots with pride and love sharing my culture with others.
I've lived and worked in the U.S., where I made amazing friends and had some great experiences. Before that, I worked on cruise ships, which gave me the chance to travel all over the world and see so many different places.
I’ve also explored Peru from top to bottom—north to south—and with every trip, I fell more in love with my country. That’s why I decided to settle back in Cusco, the place where I was born.
All these adventures taught me how important great service really is. I found my passion for travel—and for helping people create unforgettable journeys of their own.
My goal isn’t just to plan trips—it’s to help others fall in love with Peru the same way I did.
How did you get involved in travel?
"I started working in tourism at a young age while I was finishing university. I was always fascinated by the stories my clients shared about their travels, and I dreamed of exploring the world myself. So when the chance came to work on a cruise ship, I didn’t think twice—I jumped at the opportunity!
That amazing experience opened the door for me to work in the USA, which I was thrilled about. I made great friends there and really enjoyed my time.
After all my adventures abroad, I felt a strong pull to reconnect with my roots. So I traveled around Peru and completely fell in love with my country all over again. That’s when I knew—I wanted to settle down here in Cusco and share my passion for travel with others.
Now, I get to do what I love every day: helping people create perfect, personalized trips that show off the magic of Peru.

This hotel was fine. Nothing exceptional, needs some updates but the bed was comfortable, the room was spacious and quiet.

Very nice hotel, clean, beautiful and great location
Really great hotel. My only issue was that the bed was a full sized bed which was small for the two of us.

Great experience here, no issues.
Right on the lake and very quiet
The hotel was okay. We faced the the Main Street so it was very loud. The window was single-paned so even when we closed it, you could hear everything happening on the street. We were supposed to stay here two nights but we found a different hotel instead.

And this is an early to bed, early to rise trip as most of the tours start early to beat the traffic and because some locations take longer to get to than the distance implies. Our hotels, particularly in the smaller towns, were quaint with impeccable service. Guides were generally knowledgeable and easy to understand. Everything went pretty smoothly; pickups were as scheduled and there was a lot of coordination between our guides and our drivers. Highly recommended!

We thoroughly enjoyed learning about the history and the culture of the Andean people, found the cuisine delicious, and the mountains simultaneously breathtaking and calming.
Hotel Review
El Albergue Ollantaytambo Boutique Hotel
Cusco
The hotel was located essentially in a train station. The views of the mountains some of which seemed close enough to touch and then the snow capped peaks in the distance were simply magnificent. We enjoyed the flora in and around the hotel, and totally appreciated their excellent attempts at protecting the environment, growing their own organic and ecologically friendly produce, as well as fostering sustainability.
The food was delicious, and the staff everywhere was excellent and very accommodating.
The only fly in the ointment were the fumes from the trains. It was supremely convenient to have the trains stop there, but their fumes remained in the air for a while. Nothing that the hotel can control, but the only fly in the ointment as it were.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at El Albergue, and would recommend it to family and friends despite the caveat mentioned above.
Authenticity & Character
As noted above the flora, decorations and commitment to the environment made it unique.
Location
Interesting location being in the train station. Now if only PeruRail used cleaning burning engines.
Staff
Very helpful and responsive.
Cleanliness & Comfort
Quite clean. Hot water pressure can be challenging but it’s there.

Private tour to Moray, Maras & Chinchero

Learning that this was essentially a botanical laboratory for the Incas, and learning how incredibly knowledgeable about thermodynamics, physics, botany, and engineering they were was simply awe inspiring.

Observatory Train & Machu Picchu Exploration
Sacred Valley
Machu Picchu was interesting. Maybe because it is so well known our expectations were too high. Still very interesting to see and to learn more about the use of astronomy and its relationship to worship.

Transport
The train ride back from Macau Picchu was something! The train swayed for the entire journey. Fortunately no one became ill. Was much nicer going to Machu Picchu. Was it the seat selection which was reserved by the travel planner?
Private Inkary Museum, Pisac & Awanakancha Tour
Peru
Again this was very informative and enlightening. Again Juan was excellent. Learning about the strengths and weaknesses of the various groups who preceded the Incas was completely fascinating. The different customs of each group including unusual burial practices, and seeing how some of them carried on through the Incas was really wonderful. This was a thoroughly worthwhile tour.

Private Half-Day Walking Tour: Sacsayhuaman, Cusco City & San Pedro Market
Cusco
Sacsayhuaman was another example of Incan engineering ingenuity. Those massive stones aligned at well calculated angles to lessen the overall impact of earthquakes. Absolutely fascinating.
Cusco City was also interesting and we had the good fortune to witness even more of the Peruvian culture as we encountered groups of costumed school age children performing a variety of dances which illuminated the cultural heritage of Peru.
San Pedro market was intriguing. While we saw some familiar items, many of the goods were unusual. We enjoyed a delicious drink made from the lucuma fruit which is only found in Peru.
This was altogether an interesting and fascinating day.
Guides, Drivers and Staff
Private Tour to Tipon, Piquillacta & Andahuaylas
Cusco
At Tipon, we managed to get there before the hordes, and found it amazingly quiet and calming. The fountains flowed behind us while we looked at the mountains in front of us. Again the Incas hydraulic prowess was once again on full display. The four fountains expelled water at exactly the same rate. At another point, the force of the water coming from higher elevations was mitigated by the placement of a stone at exactly the right height.
Piquillacta … the visit to this Wari walled city was different from the first site. In direct contrast with the peace and calm of the first site, this site was more oppressive due to its emphasis on protection and its multiple layers of walls, some of which were quite high.
Andahuaylillas was a lovely Andean Baroque church and the insertion of Arabic influence in the decoration of the ceiling was illuminating.

Casa Andina Premium Miraflores
Lima
This hotel was well located, but was really underwhelming. Our room smelled of mildew and it just felt really dated and tired.
El Albergue Ollantaytambo Boutique Hotel
Cusco
This hotel across from the train station was great. Surprisingly quiet, with a huge organic garden. We really enjoyed the Pachamanca and the food in the restaurant. The staff was great.
Holiday Inn Lima Airport
Lima
While the hotel was great, the shuttle was infrequent and left us on the curb for over 30 minutes before arriving and having no space for us. So rather than wait another 30 minutes we took a cab... that was a huge bummer for a place touting convenience. There were no adjoining rooms and we had to get two rooms- so we would have rather stayed at the Wyndham which was on site and walkable from the airport.
Corto Maltes Amazon Lodge
Puerto Maldonado
This lodge was great. It was definitely an experience for our family. The hours without power may be an inconvenience to some, but we loved that we were forced out of our rooms and into the beautiful grounds. The guides were incredible and food was good! Only thing missing was... real coffee.
Cleanliness & Comfort
Relative to where we were, this place was incredible. But definitely somewhere that guests should be prepared is in the jungle and will have some critters, no coffee, periods without power etc...
Casa Andina Premium Cusco
Cusco
Our favorite hotel of the whole trip. This place was pristine, well located, great food, friendly staff and great courtyard!
Jaya Suite Machu Picchu
Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu
This hotel was well located and nice staff. It was a fine place to land after a day of travel - served its purpose. The breakfast was meh and it felt dated. Noticed some rooms with no windows. It was also very loud.
