Roy Pushpak
Hello !
I am Roy, your local travel specialist based at Kristiansand in southern Norway. I am here to help you realize your Nordic travel dreams: be it chasing the Northern lights, witnessing the awesome beauty of the majestic fjords, encountering its unique wildlife, kayaking under the midnight sun, seeing the Viking village, or indulging in one of several other wonderful outdoor activities to enliven your spirits in the ethereal Norwegian atmosphere !
I realized early on that nothing expands your horizons as much as travelling and experiencing first-hand the variety of the world. Whether there is a special occasion to commemorate or a need for a break from the humdrum of mundane existence, my default suggestion to everyone is: step outside and explore the beautiful blue planet. My travel motto: The best trips are those which are impromptu decisions and done on a shoestring budget! :)
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"From the panoply of awesome places and fun activities to do in Norway, there are some classics where I specialize like the northern lights chase, cruise trips to fjords, husky sledding, heritage hikes, biking, kayaking, and food and culture tours."
How did you get involved in travel?
"It was the during the several conferences I did in my student days, that I realized the marvelous effects of travelling on one's spirits. I did several trips to Scandinavia as a student and I could never tire myself of bathing in its ethereal beauty. Evidently, I have been in love with the region since then. Over time, I naturally decided to take up travelling as my vocation thereby allowing me to stay in my favorite part of the earth while also helping others enjoy its beauty. "
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"Back in the college days, on a breezy spring afternoon, I and a friend made an impromptu decision to take a bike ride. The sheer joy of riding across varying landscapes and the thrill of battling the wily weather of the mountains kept us going for 9 hours straight until we reached one of the quaint towns tucked at the mountain foothills, safe from the clutter and clamour of the city. We kept exploring the hills while breaking occasionally to bathe in the chilly mountain rivers or to satiate our appetites with one of the local dishes being served in humble eateries. The memory of it all never fails to enliven me."

We never would have been able to plan this trip without Roy. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the country, and worked with us through a few iterations of our itinerary to ensure that it was just right and would allow us to do everything that we wanted.
Everything was great.

- Hotel in Stockholm was excellent in an excellent location.
- The Wildlife Safari was a disaster. The guide, I think his name was Daniel, smelled so bad it was nauseating. The trip was not as advertised. The van was not comfortable and it was dirty -- so dirty I could not see out of the windshield and we were supposed to be looking out the window to spot wildlife. It included one hike up a fairly steep hill with NO PATH. It was extremely... Read more
