I am a "flying dutchman" by birth and by experience, and have travelled and lived abroad for as long as I can remember. As a child I felt at home wherever I lived, picking up languages and customs as a way of feeling part of the place and community I lived in. Forty years later, and I'm sure... read more

My trip through Bosnia (and part of Croatia) with a rental car was fantastic. My local specialist, Laurent, skillfully helped me figure out a loose itinerary based on my interests and set up my hotels ahead of time, so it was no muss no fuss, and the hotels were excellent and charming overall. Bosnia was relatively un-touristed when I visited, except for Mostar which lured in the day-trippers from Croatia, so it was great to not have to deal with hordes of tour buses. I had great culinary adventures with roast lamb in Jablanica, čevapi in Travnik, croissants at a 500 year old bakery in Sarajevo, fresh trout in Una National Park, and so on. There was splendid bridge architecture in Mostar, Sarajevo, Višegrad, and Trebinje. Amazing castle overlooks and old town hikes in Počitjelj, the decaying 1984 Winter Olympics venue in Sarajevo, and the sculpture garden at Ostrožac castle was incredible. Beautiful Muslim, Orthodox and Catholic holy places were often built right next to each other in nearly every town. And the river and waterfall colors throughout the country from the limestone and other rocks were incredible. Also notable, the very well done and sobering Srebrenica memorial museum and cemetery, a definite must-visit along with the numerous "Sarajevo Roses" throughout the city, awful reminders of the terrible war in the 90s. One tip: Try to mostly drive in the day time, if you can, because the roads in Bosnia are often very narrow, winding, and sometimes rough and irregularly patched

Thank you so much Joseph for this wonderful and detailed feedback. I’m really happy to hear that the trip went so well and that Bosnia left such a strong impression on you.

It was a real pleasure helping you shape this itinerary around your interests, and I’m especially glad the route, hotels, food experiences, and cultural stops all came together so nicely.

I am not sure how he could have done anything to make this trip better. He even controlled the weather and made sure it only rained when we were in a building or a vehicle.hahaha

Thank you Samer for opening our eyes to what Bosnia has to offer, it was truly a great experience!

Average no frills hotel. It was clean, location was great, staff were friendly and breakfast was good. Room was a little small, but this wasn't issue for us as it was just a good place to rest after a long day of exploring.I have no concerns at all with my stay here.

It is some months after the trip when chaos life prevented me to from thanking samer for a wonderful trip.
Samer waited for me on arrival and drove me to the very nice city hotel.
I enjoyed my city walk and then it was off the mountains.
The trail were a chalange but doable. Tons of wild life , pleasant conversation and peace. The 2nd half of the trip was a different guide. The snake charmer who showed me snakes.

The team was ecomodating with my changing whims. I walked around 8 hours a day which is exactly what I asked for. It was a perfect tailor made trip and which it can go on. They were also effective in getting covid tests.
Communication with samer was easy via the kimkim app.
Can I give 6 stars for this trip?
Bosnia in June is divine.

Cheers. Gil from cleveland.
Note that I love travel and this is my 70th country. I consider bosnia as top 10.

The only thing we didn't like about our trip was that it was over.
Stunnigly beautiful mountains and villages, fresh water, cozy cabins and delicious food.
Our guide Samer was not only a true professional but also a wonderful person we really enjoyed spending time with. Highly recommended and we look forward to coming back.

Hello Doron,
Thank you very much for great words.

I truly enjoyed the tour we did, from many different reasons, my first hiking tour of the season, weather and most of all the company.

Have a great time in Mostar and hope our paths will cross again.
All the best.
