Aljaz, our tour specialist was fantastic! Our trip was planned exactly to our "wants"! We loved the suggestions from Aljaz and our accommodation everywhere was amazing. We had 3 weeks touring Croatia & Slovenia and would never have known all the little stops that made our trip so much fun. We loved the beer fountain in Slovenia - so cool. Kimkim is the best way to travel if you want to do your own thing but still know you have a bed booked and all the sites on offer if you're wanting to keep busy. Would definitely give Aljaz & Kimkim 6 stars and would use them again and again.

Slovenia was awesome. I loved the trekking - quite challenging sometimes, especially in the Alps/ mountains/ hills , but always interesting. The River Soca is beautiful and Piran is a gorgeous town on the Adriatic. But lots of other lovely places. Domen was superb. Always responsive and kept in touch to make sure I was ok. The accommodation and treks he organized were perfect. Thanks Domen, SLO trips and kim kim 😀 10/10. Nga mihi Karen, New Zealand.

From beginning to end, Miha and Slotrips provided excellent service. He was patient with us in planning as we had numerous requests and were so overwhelmed at work that our response times were sometimes slow. Upon arrival, Miha made the whole trip so simple with the use of his amazing app!!! He equipped us with a phone with all the data that we needed and more. It was easy, and worked flawlessly! We cannot sing its praises enough! Miha and his team were always available to us along the way. Checking the weather for road closures, making sure we had alternatives for rainy days, answering our calls on public holidays. While we thoroughly enjoyed the adventure of taking an independent trip, we were always supported, felt safe and never felt alone. Miha really knows Slovenia and takes the time to get to know his guests so that he puts together a great itinerary. His recommendations were wonderful from the daily adventures (which included some frequently visited tourist spots but also many off the beat more quiet but super spectacular spots) to restaurants and accommodations.

Really great trip to Slovenia and hiking with my local guide Boštjan. The trip was easy to book and Boštjan really planned some terrific hikes that were both picturesque and perfect for the level of difficulty I was hoping for. I would book again in a heartbeat. Debela peč was my favorite!

Miha was very nice and responsive when I contacted him to plan a four-day trip to Slovenia on short notice. He helped me decide where to stay and how to allot the four days and set up a guide for two of the days.
Our guide, Bostjan, was incredibly nice, interesting and helpful. It was so nice not to have to worry about driving places and how to get there. I loved seeing Piran but would have liked more time there and more information about the town and its history. I also loved the winery he took us to, which was a great experience and very different. The region was particularly beautiful. In general, again, I would have liked more information on our surroundings.
It may have been due to the fact that we didn't plan our trip too far in advance so I'm not necessarily faulting Miha, but I didn't know the details of what we were going to be doing on the two days with the guide and would have liked an opportunity to decide after a more in depth conversation about the alternatives. I had to call the guide a day before we were leaving for Prague to ask about it and discuss some possibilities since I hadn't heard from anyone.
I also really loved our hiking experience with Bostjan. He did a great job of figuring out what would be both interesting, scenic and manageable for me with some knee problems and not being as adept a hiker as my husband. He was an expert driver on the windy mountain roads and planned a really wonderful hike.
Things I didn't find so interesting: walk through a bird sanctuary, since it wasn't particularly culturally interesting and birds had already flown south, and spending time in Lake Bled. Again, I'm not necessarily faulting the tour company for spending time in Bled since I had heard a great deal about it and it is a pretty famous site. It certainly was pretty and we had some great meals in local restaurants, and also went to the nearby gorge. However, it's very crowded and touristy and I think I would have preferred knowing a bit more about that aspect of it through talking with the tour company, and maybe spending time in a home stay overnight in the countryside instead or something like that. My favorite part of visiting Lake Bled was actually taking a different route back from the gorge and walking through the forest and two local villages back to Lake Bled. We were not able to rent bicycles there because the only places that were open didn't have any small enough for me, but it turned out to be fine to walk.

The best recommendation would be using the service again and we will certainly be doing that. We like to be independent travellers but had found ourselves getting exhausted by planning and researching what to do tomorrow on our adventures. Now we have the solution. Let someone else who knows your chosen holiday location intimately do that for you. We gave Miha, the local man, our interests and guidelines and he planned the best experience I've ever had on holidays. Slovenia can take some credit too. Such variety all close to each other.

However, we were given a 54 page booklet of our trip, complete with suggested activities, websites, maps, phone numbers, opening times and tips that made our days travel so easy and accessible. Then, on meeting with Miha in Ljubljana, he handed over a phone, ours for the length of the trip, with all those things loaded and one tap and up came the route on google maps or the phone number to the local special restaurant that only the locals would know. It’s hard to say what was our favourite place in Slovenia. Miha chose totally different but equally enchanting destinations and accommodations from mountain farmhouse in the Julian Alps to Boutique hotel in Ljubljana to luxury resorts in Rovinj. A smorgasbord of interesting places to stay in a country that offers a smorgasboard of sites and experiences. So, I’d certainly recommend Kimkim and Miha in particular.

I used Miha to organise our bike tour to Slovenia. the tour was tailored to meet our specific requirements and didn't disappoint. Eveything on the tour was to expectation from accomodation, to transfers rigth through to the detailed routes for the tours. I would highlty recommend Miha to anyone who wants to organise a trip to Slovenia.

Miha was wonderful to work with. His description of our trip from start to finish was very well organized, accurate and so helpful. The added plus was the use of a cell phone which guided us to each of our hotels and sight seeing spots in Slovenia through the use of its GPS. Miha answered all of our questions, and eased our fears or doubts about any part of the trip that we weren't sure about. We loved all of our hotels, they were centrally located and all of the hosts of each hotel were very accommodating and friendly. All the hotels were wonderful, but there were some that really stood out; Pension Berc,(one of the best restaurants we have been to) and loved the free use of their
E bikes, the manager of the hotel 44, in Dubrovnik Damir was also outstanding. He gave us a lot of tips as to where to go and what to do and carried our suitcase up the flight of stairs. We loved that Miha gave us a lot of flexibility in the planning and our trip was a perfect balance of activities and relaxation time. There were so many favorite spots that we wouldn't have the time to list them all. However I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to recommend Miha for your Slovenia and Croatia trip. All the guides spoke great English and were very friendly, and very knowledgeable. Kim Kim and their travel planners are the perfect way to go if you don't like to be in big groups and want to have the freedom and flexibility and most of all independence from a strict schedule.

The week with slotrips was fabulous.
The tour was extremely well planned. It had everything . Fantastic hikes in the mountains. The via ferrata was great fun. The lakes were beautiful . The final dinner was sooo good .
The wine tasting was special. The lady from the vineyard gave great explanations and the food was delicious at her place . The visit to the caves was very interesting.
We had two guides for the trip : Anya and Domer. They were both terrific. Very knowledgeable , patient and fun.

Luka was our initial contact who responded quickly and was very informative during our initial inquiries. Closer to the trip, we we worked with his colleague Stasa who was our guide for the week.

The trip to Slovenia exceeded our expectations. Stasa planned an amazing itinerary and I did not realize the extent of the concierge service we would get. In a short week, we did an amazing hike in Triglav National Park, paddle boarded Lake Bled, wine tasted, rafted the Soca River, went canyoning, had a picnic/swam at a beautiful waterfall in Bovec to name just a FEW highlights. Stasa even took the kids out to pizza and gelato so the adults could have an amazing dining experience at Hisa Franko run by Anna Ros featured on Netflix Chef's Table.

Stasa's knowledge and history of the area is remarkable, she was fun, her logistics were impeccable, and was very flexible. The van that carried our crew of 4 adults and three children throughout the trip was spacious,comfortable, and clean.

If anyone is considering traveling in this area and in search of a guide, Stasa is a must! I could not imagine anyone delivering a more memorable experience for our families.

My 4 star review instead of 5 is due to a Kim Kim issue in which there seemed to be some confusion when two families are both on a single itinerary. Our billing was confused as an example and our family was billed the incorrect amount at first but that being said was corrected quickly when I discovered this and brought it to your attention.

Miha was excellent to work with in planning our adventures thoughout Slovenia. Ljubljana is a fun city with great restaurants and shops, night street music, and market with plenty of food options, crafts, and farm fresh items. When we left the city we headed for a meadow hike-Velika Planina and were delighted to reach a small village that offered homemade cheeses and sausages. Our hotels were all very comfortable, with wonderful breakfast buffets. we enjoyed all the towns we visisted...Logarska, .Lake Bled, Lake Bohinj, Bovec, Medina wine country, and seacoast town of Piran. We had great fishing guides, appreciated Miha"s recommendations for hikes, castles/forts, and bike rides.

This was an amazing trip! We saw many beautiful places throughout Slovenia. Our hiking, biking and rafting were planned out well. We stayed at lovely mountain huts and hotels. Domen and Anja were informative and pleasant staff! This trip is highly recommended!

My friend and I did a self guided trip, with Domen planning our route and arranging transportation and accommodations and extras. It was a spectacular trip! Hiking through the mountains to different places (only having to take daypacks) was great. Domen may have slightly overestimated our fitness abilities, but we felt awfully pleased with ourselves after! He was very quick to respond to any questions and we felt safe and secure the entire time. The only thing that didn’t work for us was trying to use the phone gps he had given us, but we had detailed directions and maps. It was most likely a user error!😀. Our trip ranged from Bled, through the Julian Alps to Bovec, rafting down the Soca river, then to wine country and ended with the caves on our way to Rovinj. I will definitely come back to Slovenia, it’s a jewel!

Miha organised the trip so well to suit our style. He made it easy. Everything was organised from the printed itinerary to the mobile phone on loan! Nothing went wrong and we really enjoyed the hike.

We spent a wonderful two weeks driving around Slovenia, seeing the sights and taking lovely day hikes. Domen and Miha both worked with us designing a unique trip. We visited both the usual tourist sights and some that were specific to our interests. They gave us gps tracks to quiet, solitary day hikes with amazing views. We do not hesitate to recommend Slotrips for a fabulous vacation.

Slovenia was such a memorable trip. Our Kimkim organisers planned the holiday just as we wanted it...a mixture of sightseeing and activity. The Julian Alps are a must for anyone who enjoys picturesque scenery and cycling/river activities.

My Trip to Slovenia started off with a request to “Solo hike through the alps, away from crowds and tourists". Miha contacted me and wanted to understand what I had in mind. Living in Silicon Valley and working in tech, my desire was to reconnect with nature and pursue a solo-hike through the Alps. I had envisioned doing this in Austria just based on its familiarity with my past travels.

As Miha and I exchanged messages, Miha who converted my desires into a well defined route to combine seeing many regions in Slovenia, which would allow me to decompress from the fast pace life in California and prepare for my solo hike through the Julia Alps, down into the Soča River Valley, through the Karst region onto Prian. He ensure everything I asked for was awaiting my arrival!

Once Miha and I talked live we settled on the plan and waited for weeks to pass and my flight to Slovenia, for an amazing 10 day trip.

I can summarize my trip by saying a Slovene saying; Sekira mi je padla v med!

Meeting Domen on my arrival, we had a great conversation reviewing maps and the route over beers and burgers and then I was cut loose to explore Ljubljana, where you can still feel the presence of past dragons and the vibe of a modern but well preserved historic city. From the street musicians to the open cafe's and restaurants to eating carniolian sausage at a very small sausage shack (Go there to find it, you will know when you see it along the way to the Castle over the three bridges).

Then onto Lake Bled, 6 kilometers around the lake, meeting Bobbi the artist who paints with watercolors, to experiencing the fairytale setting of the surrounding area. You do not pass up wood-fired traditional meals or the amazing cream cake you can learn about. My stay in Bled was a stepping off point to finalizing my gear and pack, since the next day was on to where my hike would start, on a ridge on the border between Austria and Slovenia.

Getting dropped off in the woods with a short hike up to the border ridge, onto Vosca Peak to start my path through the Julians, to visit Tonka prior to getting to Vrsic pass, hiking along the Soča river, overnighting in a hay barn at a local farm and onto Bovec, then to a Winery older then the United States and Caves where the Reka flows underground, onto Prian with Aljaž to hike sea cliffs and swim in the Adriatic!

Every aspect of the trip exceeded my expectations, the friendly culture, amazing people I met along the way, the nature, food and local beer. I rarely noticed the weather, but thunder does make you hike faster off the peaks :). I cannot wait to return to share this trip with my wife and to introduce her to all my new friends.

My trip can be summed up in one word; Zaklad!

Amazing crew of people at SloTrips, I cannot wait to reconnect with them on my next trip to Slovenia and possibly Croatia! Everyone should strive to take a hike in Slovenia in their lifetime and reconnect with nature and a great culture forged over many thousands of years. Great trip organised and coordinated by Miha Gantar everything was well thought out and coordinated. The standard of service and accommodation was excellent. The country is open welcoming and not yet over crowded and pretty much everyone spoke english so we had no trouble getting around and being understood. Our guide Aliaz for our 5 day hike was fantastic and took all the worry out of navigating some challenging terrain. By far the best organised trip we have done
