From the moment I stumbled across Kimkim travel services, my expectations were exceeded by the service I received. Bianca was my coordinator and helped me plan the perfect experience in Victoria Falls and the surrounding areas. Every time I wanted to tweek my itinerary, she had the perfect solution. The trip went flawlessly. The lodgings she booked us at, Batonka Lodge, was beautiful and intimate and a perfect home base for our 5 day trip. Staff is so accommodating and had our trip details so could inform us daily on the timing of our excursions. While all the excursions were magnificent, the elephant experience was exhilarating!! We walked with, fed and touched the elephants while given a history of the area. Chobe National Park, the all day tour, is a must see. It is a both a land and water tour with a beautiful lunch over seeing the river. We will definitely use Kimkim’s services again.

I’ve traveled with KimKim before; all experiences have been exceptional.

This trip covered Zimbabwe, Botswana, Johannesburg & Soweto.
This trip required lots of work, coordinating & communication with more than one person & at several meeting points ( which wasn’t always smooth). I’m sure KimKim can address this without issues. However, know that coordinators simply want to get it right as they get to know you & your interests. The end of the trip ran smoothly based on my continued... Read more

This trip required lots of work, coordinating & communication with more than one person & at several meeting points ( which wasn’t always smooth). I’m sure KimKim can address this without issues. However, know that coordinators simply want to get it right as they get to know you & your interests. The end of the trip ran smoothly based on my continued communication with Petru, the coordinator.

All lodges, staff & meals were wonderful. One lodge was dated, but staff & meals were exceptional. The camp had lovely staff and exceptional meals, despite frigid temperatures. Early morning departures for game drives could be improved, perhaps a later hour. Do note that it was all inclusive.

I made a stop in Johannesburg to learn about its history. I spent time in the city proper & in Soweto. The guides were exceptional.
A meaningful time spent with community members. This was a walking & tuk tuk tour.

If you love nature this trip may be for you. Prepare for frigid temperatures and remaining sedentary as the day is either spent on a jeep or a boat with bumpy rides. If you are the active type, you’ll need to set up your own routine. There was one Safari walk & another at Victoria Falls, which were greatly desired. Thanks.

My trip to Zimbabwe!

The trip over all was great! I was able to complete every activity mentioned in my itinerary and my favorite moments during this trip was the Devils Pool Swim and the 2 day camping Safari in Chobe National Park. We spotted well over 150 elephants and a whole pride of lions in their natural habitats! Truly an experience I will never forget.

There were however, some hiccups in that every activity I attended (helicopter flip, devils pool swim, boma dinner) asked me for a voucher number to track my booking however I was not provided this information and was unable to help them find my specific booking, in one such case the activity was booked under the name "Elgin Africa" the company name instead of my name. Thankfully, the facilitators were quick to respond and were able to figure out my booking details. I was in regular contact with Jamie and Deb (Kimkim Agents) to voice any concerns I had and they were very quick to respond.

When traveling to Zimbabwe, keep at least $300-$400 USD cash on you for transfers and visas, this of course depends on how long your trip is. I was advised to keep $200 USD on hand for visas and transfers (for a 6 day trip) and burned through that quickly on visas alone. As a Canadian traveling to Zimb, our visa fee is $75 USD for a single entry. During my time at Victoria Falls I had gotten a KAZA visa as well ($60 USD) to travel to Zimb. and Zamb. for the devils pool swim with the assumption that this visa will also allow you into Zimb. from other neighboring countries. This is not the case, if you travel to Botswana (Chobe National Park) with the plan to get back into Zimbabwe, you will have to get another single entry Zimb. visa ($75 USD). They also do not accept USD at the Botswana border, only pula. The drivers are very helpful and will take you to an ATM to extract however much you'll need in pula, but it's something to be aware of.

Over all, despite the bumps along the way, I had a great experience!
