What you'll do

Your day begins in Sorrento, where you'll meet your guide and set off along the legendary Amalfi Coast road. As you wind past dramatic cliffs and sparkling sea views, your guide will share stories, local legends, and insights that bring this iconic stretch of coastline to life. Along the way, you'll pause at scenic viewpoints like La Pinetina to capture photos of the dolphin-shaped Li Galli archipelago of islands rising from the turquoise water below.

Your first stop is Positano, a former fishing village, now a jet-set destination famed for its "vertical architecture" of pastel-hued buildings that cascade down the hillside, granting exceptional views at every level. With free time to explore, you can wander narrow lanes filled with artisan shops selling handmade sandals and beachy linens and upscale eateries serving lemon-themed dishes, admire buildings draped in pink bougainvillea, and relax on the warm sands of Spiaggia Grande.

From here, continue to the historic heart of Italy's UNESCO-listed coast: Amalfi—either by road or, if the weather is cooperative, via a swift boat ride that offers a refreshing change of perspective from the water (that also skips the coastal traffic!). Once in town, you'll have ample time to explore at your own pace. Climb the 62 steps to the medieval Duomo di Sant'Andrea cathedral (tip: some of the best pics of the town's most iconic landmark are taken from the harbor), sip espresso in its small, but lively Piazza del Duomo, and sample a local specialty, like the flaky, shell-shaped Santa Rosa sfogliatella pastry.

Your final stop is the quieter hamlet of Ravello, perched high above the shoreline and known for having some of the best top-down Amalfi Coast panoramas. Stroll through peaceful streets, browse ceramic shops selling colorful wares, or opt to visit a villa or two, like the 13th-century Villa Rufolo, home to an eclectic mix of Arab-Sicilian architecture and terraced gardens that open onto sweeping sea views. After time to take in Ravello's casual elegance, you'll rejoin your driver for the return journey to Sorrento—ending the day with a deeper appreciation for one of Italy's most celebrated coastal regions.
