What you'll do

Saddle up and prepare for an unforgettable adventure exploring the paths around Arenal volcano on horseback. Your tour begins at the stables, where your seasoned guide will help you mount your horse and prepare for your journey.

As you make your way up the mountain, you'll travel through secondary forests, farmland, and primary forest. Listen as your guide shares their knowledge about the local flora and fauna, pointing out different species and highlighting their unique characteristics.

Next, you'll reach a lagoon where you can take a break and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Take a few moments to soak in the natural beauty of the area and snap some photos.

Then, continue ascending the mountain until you reach the high point of your tour. From this viewpoint, you'll enjoy breathtaking views of Arenal volcano and the surrounding scenery. Be sure to bring your camera to capture this postcard-perfect moment.

After taking in the stunning views, you'll begin your descent back down the mountain, traveling through primary forest, farmland, and secondary forest before arriving back at the stables.

Our horses were a bit out of control and poorly trained. For somebody who has had multiple horse riding experiences, my horse was either galloping or stopping for a chomp. It was the same for most horses in our group. Scenery was beautiful. Read more
