Tips for future travelers

Have a really good camera. The lights are much more visible through a lens than with the naked eye and a great camera really brings out the colors.

Our driver/guide was hilarious...and provided us with Brennevin shots to keep us warm. A uniquely Icelandic experience!

We were most excited about it. Supposedly, we had moderate chance of seeing northern lights but we couldn't due to lingering clouds. Pick up was little late but guide was very informative. He did try to going to few locations to try to spot but didn't work out. They provide hot chocolate and cookie which was good. They did offer a free tour at later time but since it was our last day we couldnt really use it. Read more

Dress warm. Be prepared to be disappointed as all stars have to align to be able to see the lights.

The driver was one of the rudest people I have ever met. In addition, his Russian accent was very very heavy making it almost impossible to understand. He is clearly in the wrong profession

He took us straight to a breathtaking view of Northern Lights within 30 minutes of picking us up from our hotel. The hot chocolate was spot on. We are glad Jenny booked the superjeep tour as it was faster, more efficient and we could do off-roading and go to places where a regular bus wouldn't. The aurora forecast was just moderate but the lights turned out more than spectacular and we consider ourselves very lucky. We are glad we booked this tour on the first night of our trip because it kept raining continuously the last three days of our stay.

Tips for future travelers

Tips - Always book the Northern Lights tour on the first day of your trip so that in case you don't see them, there is a possibility to rebook during the rest of your stay. It will maximise your chances of seeing them.

This one was one we actually missed out on.
We waited around for 20 minutes and the bus never showed up. There were only two other people waiting along with us.
We ended up walking away after 20 minutes and the transportation still had not shown up. It was our last night in Iceland and I really didn't want to waste time waiting. Wish I could get my money back for this one but it is what it is Read more
