Private Sledding Excursion & Dolomites Road Trip, Bolzano

Overview

Thrill to a half-day private adventure as you sled down the most famous toboggan hill in the Dolomites, followed by a scenic drive along the Great Dolomites Road. You'll first transfer to a ski resort to ride a gondola to the starting point of the sled run for a kid-friendly descent (also available in the evenings for added fun!). Next, you'll hop back into your vehicle to drive through high mountain passes, including the famous Sella Pass, before you make your way back to Bolzano.

Highlights

  • See the western Dolomites from a unique vantage point: the region's most famous sled run
  • Cover 1.5 miles of track over 919 feet on your personal sled
  • Travel the Great Dolomites Road through scenic and windy passes, like the Gardena Pass

What you'll do

After being picked up from your hotel in Bolzano, you'll transfer to the ski resort to ride the lift to the starting point of the toboggan run at 6,004 feet (1,830 m). Gently sloped—and therefore safe for all ages and skill levels—you'll sled down 1.5 miles (2.5 km) of track. And with lights that mark the way and artificial snow topping up what nature may not be providing (snow), this excursion is available most hours of the day and night, even when there isn't snow on the ground throughout the winter months (mid-December to the end of March).

You'll then switch gears and ride in a private vehicle along the Strada delle Dolomiti (Great Dolomites Road), a scenic 68-mile (110 km) road that connects Bolzano to Cortina d'Ampezzo. You'll drive over several high mountain passes, like the Sella Pass, and wind your way through the Gardena and Fassa valleys, taking in all that beautiful Alpine scenery.
