What you'll do
Begin your adventure in the heart of Bergen, where you'll catch the Ulriken express bus to the Ulriken cable car station, or if you're visiting during the fall and winter months, you can head directly to the Ulriken cable car station. Once there, board the spacious gondola for a scenic ride up Ulriken, one of Bergen's seven mountains, marveling at the exceptional views of the surrounding landscape as you ascend to 2,110 feet (643 m) above sea level.
Upon reaching the top, you'll be welcomed at the Skyskraperen Restaurant, where your table awaits. Here, you'll indulge in a Viking platter lunch featuring a selection of local Norwegian flavors. Enjoy dishes such as fiskesuppe (Bergen fish soup), crispy potato lompe topped with egg and smoked salmon, Ulriken's Norwegian beef taco, and svele, a type of small pancake with jam and sour cream. Your meal is complemented by a flight of local beer from 7 Fjell Bryggeri, while children can sip on juice.
With appetites satiated, you'll have the rest of the day to further explore the mountaintop and its panoramic views of Bergen and its mountains and fjords. With an open return ticket for both the bus and the gondola, you can descend back to the city center on your schedule.
During the summer season (May through September), meet at the Ulriken express bus, Torgallmenningen 1a. In the off-season (October through April), meet directly at the Ulriken cable car station, Haukelandsbakken 40. Remember to show your ticket to the bus driver or at the cable car station ticket office upon arrival. Return tickets for the gondola are included.

It would have been helpful to know that our paper tickets needed to be exchanged for tickets that could be scanned and open the gates. We got up to the gondala and then had to come back down to street level.
