What you'll do

This four-hour excursion begins when you meet your expert local guide and the rest of your small group, and set off into Valencia's atmospheric Ciutat Vella (Old Town). Weave through the city's patchwork of architectural styles and pass UNESCO-listed treasures, pausing at landmarks like the Plaza de la Virgen. Considered the city's beating heart, this beautiful pedestrian square is home to the Gothic Valencia Cathedral (built atop the remains of an ancient Roman temple) and the Baroque Virgen de los Desamparados Basilica (home to a shrine to the city's patron saint).

Look up to spot the gargoyles as you pass La Lonja de la Seda, the city's 500-year silk exchange, and continue west to the Mercado Central, built in a soaring Modernista style with vaulted glass ceilings and intricate ironwork. Wander through the over 250 fruit and vegetable stalls, and experience the sights, sounds, and smells of Europe's largest produce market as your guide points out local ingredients and explains the importance of the market to the city's residents.

After about 1.5 hours of strolling, you'll end at one of Valencia's most emblematic locales—a portion of the 11th-century Moorish walls that once encircled the city. Here, you'll gain exclusive access to an intimate dining venue, where you'll sit down to a 10-course tasting menu designed to showcase the finest local products and award-winning regional wines. Start with a glass of red on the scenic terrace, then savor flavorful bites of tapas and a traditional seafood paella surrounded by city views and ancient stone walls.

Amazing experience with a small group of 11! We started with a tour of the historic old town of València for about one hour. Then, we continued to a private venue to try eight different tapas, and the wine was flowing! We had a great guide who was knowledgeable about the old town and knew about each different tapa and wine! The group was very fun and got to meet other kimkim travelers! I work for kimkim and did this activity on a work trip. Read more

This was a wonderful experience and the best way to end our stay at Valencia. We had such an incredible time. The group we had was also very wonderful and helped add to the experience for us. The buildings for the City of Arts and Sciences were beautiful and the rooftop views were breathtaking. The sunset was incredible that day and there were even surprise fireworks! White and red wines and a 10 course tapas were served and everything was very good. We enjoyed this experience so much and would definitely recommend anyone visiting Valencia to partake in it.

This was easily the best part of our trip. An awesome tour of once if the most impressive architectural displays I’ve ever seen. Then 10 courses of tapas and wine on the rooftop terrace of a 33-story tower overlooking the campus and city. The food was tremendous, the wine was excellent, and the strangers we shared the experience with felt like friends by the end of the night. Tips for future travelers

I don’t know if it’s offered at all times if the day but we did it in the evening so we were able to watch them sunset and close out the night with this event. I would highly recommend doing the same.
