BCascais Boutique House by APT IIN, Cascais
Elegant 19th-century manor in prime historic location with included breakfast, garden bistro bar, and wine pairing events
Overview
Set in a 19th-century manor that's been refurbished into a seven-room hotel, BCascais Boutique House drips with class at every turn. Best yet, guests are well placed in Cascais' historic center, a short walk from the beach, museum quarter, and numerous cafés and restaurants, and are even a short drive to Sintra. Inside, rooms combine classic elegance with modern comforts—high ceilings, plush bedding, and sound-insulated walls. Savor a Mediterranean breakfast with buffet and made-to-order dishes, then unwind with a glass of wine and tapas in the garden, all while enjoying attentive, friendly service.
Kimkim's Take

- BCascais has you in a prime location across the street from a laundromat and just a short walk to a handful of beaches, restaurants and cafés, the museum quarter, and train.
- Upon your arrival, you can expect a (surprise) welcome gift; it could be flowers, it could be a bottle of Champagne.
- The hotel is set in a beautifully renovated 19th-century manor house with classic-contemporary decor and spacious rooms.
- You'll sit down to a highly-praised buffet breakfast (included in the room rate) of a la carte options in the Bistro Bar's garden setting.
- If you time your stay right, you can partake in a wine pairing event that's held weekly.
- It's possible to book the entire guesthouse ("Full House") for your group, which includes all seven rooms and likely accommodates up to 16 guests.
- A EUR 150 deposit is required at check-in, and rooms don't have lockboxes or hangers.
Authenticity
The first "boutique house" by Apt IIN, BCascais was formerly a 19th-century manor that underwent renovations in 2023, keeping it's traditional exterior (white walls and curved red clay roof tiles) and modernizing its insides (you'll find glam spaces with stylized furniture and plenty of gold details). Breakfast features a slew of Mediterranean options and local products, and guests can sip on local vintages highlighted by the Bistro Bar's chef's specialities during the weekly wine pairing (though wine and other bevvys are available any time throughout the week).
Location
BCascais Boutique House is ideally positioned for exploring the area on foot, as you're right in the historic center. You'll be a 5-minute walk from attractions like Palacete Seixas, Cascais Bay, and Ribeira Beach—and a little more for other (family-friendly) options. Plenty of cafés, restaurants, and local shops are equally close, and there's a laundromat across the street for that added convenience. For those interested in exploring farther, the Cascais Citadel is only 10 minutes away on foot and scenic spot Boca do Inferno is about 20, and if you have a car, a day trip to Sintra to see Quinta da Regaleira and Sintra National Palace is only a 30-minute drive.
Rooms & Bathrooms
All seven rooms at BCascais Boutique House feature a classic-contemporary vibe that combines a bit of refined glam with mid-century modern touches. Rooms differ slightly from one another, though all have gold and black accents in light fixtures, furniture, and decorative pieces. Some have black-and-white wallpapered tropical scenes and textured green or mustard yellow headboards, while others have chair and picture rail with floor-to-ceiling cushioned headboards. For more space, book the Loft with a sleek freestanding tub and living room with pullout couch.
Amenities
Though amenities are few, the Bistro Bar is a highlight. It serves a top-notch breakfast (buffet and made-to-order options available) in an elegant space that extends into the garden and onto a small checkered-patterned patio. You'll feel particularly cared for with a welcome gift (past travelers have received a bouquet of flowers, Champagne, or a box of truffles. And if you happen to be staying at BCascais when the weekly sunset wine pairing event takes place, you can enjoy a trio of local wines paired with the chef's creations.Family-Friendliness
Families of four staying at BCascais Boutique House can book the Loft for added space, which includes a separate living area with a pullout couch. All other rooms sleep up to two guests, though cots are available for a fee. The breakfast (buffet and a la carte options) caters to kids' palates, and the close-to-the-beach location is great for sun-seeking families.Like what you see?
