Excellent location in the middle of the Amazon! Rooms, lounge and food was amazing and made our forest experience unforgettable

There is no better place to stay than Refugio Amazonas! The local guides are built for knowing where and when the wildlife will come. We got to see all different types of monkeys, capybaras, macaws, caimans, frogs, turtles, snakes, and tons of insects! Thanks to the efforts of the biologists, we got to see the very rare crestled eagle nest. You will absolutely need good hiking boots, flashlight or head lamp, bug repellant, and binoculars. Light long pants and long sleeved shirst are essential. Get ready for the time of your life!

The food offered was delicious and refreshing! It fueled our bodies for the hikes and adventures. At night, the bar offered all sorts of drinks and coffees. The beds were protected by elegant mosquito nests, so we slept peacefully to the sounds of the rainforest. The shower was so tranquil and relaxing. They even offer massages!

What a wonderful and unique experience! Open air rooms with nothing but the buzz of the jungle to lull you to sleep. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Delicious food and fresh juices. I loved lying in the hammock, drinking a cold one on a hot day and listening to the Amazon's natural symphony. p.s. get a massage :)

This is a fantastic lodge in the Amazon rainforest. The rooms are open air with one whole wall of the room open to the forest. The beds had mosquito nets that were lowered prior to bedtime. It was a unique experience - like sleeping outside with all the wonderful sounds of the rainforest. It was quite hot and humid and there was no air conditioning anywhere on property. The food was very good and the tours were also excellent.

Wow! The lodge is very beautiful but you should know your experience includes sleeping in a room with 3 walls-your room is completely open to the Amazon Rainforest! You must sleep under a very good mosquito net that stops all airflow and when it is hot as it was late Dec-Jan, it is really hot. The solar powered electricity is on from 4am-11pm so your fan goes off. I think they need to find a way to have small rechargeable fans inside the mosquito nets during the hot months. Speaking Spanish will enhance your experience here. I feel I missed a lot since I did not speak Spanish & our guide while lovely often could not properly convey his knowledge to us in English. Food was good & beautifully presented. Staff were very friendly. Loved the carbon neutral visit. Also be aware you have a fairly long cling with about 70-80 steps from the river to the lodge. The area is so beautiful & I did love all the sounds of the rainforest at night.

My wife and kids had a great time. The room was comfortable with one open wall, which looked out into the forest. The activities were interesting and fun and we never were disappointed with the wildlife we observed.

Be aware that guest rooms are open to the jungle. If this frightens you, you may wish to reconsider.

Everyone must experience nature this way! This plaice really makes you fell like you are close to something higher than yourself…
