Japan in July: Travel Tips, Weather & More
July is mid-summer in Japan, and while temperatures aren't quite so high as in August, they're pretty hot. Add intense humidity to the mix, and conditions can be quite uncomfortable. However, the conditions aren't the same across the country: Hokkaido is much more temperate, and the beaches of Okinawa are good retreats at this time of year. If you find yourself in Japan's major cities in July, you can also enjoy many traditional summer festivals. Here's how to have a good time in Japan in July.
Best Time of Year to Visit Japan
The best times to visit Japan are spring (March to May) for cherry blossoms and fall (September to November) for vibrant fall foliage, both offering pleasant weather and stunning scenery. Spring's sakura season is iconic, but autumn often feels less crowded and just as striking, with fiery colors across temples, mountains, and gardens. Winter (December to February) appeals to skiers and onsen lovers, while summer (June to August) brings lively festivals and hiking opportunities despite the heat.
How Many Days to Spend in Japan

Carinta was super helpful and accomodating when it came to planning our trip to Japan. She was able to make the best plan that fit our budget and contained all the essential things we wanted to do.
During the trip, she was also quick to respond to various questions we had and provided awesome recommendations for food and travel.
We were able to focus more on having a great time since Carinta handled all the booking and scheduling. This took a lot of stress and friction out of the planning which made a great difference in our first trip to Japan.
