Kimkim Trip Reviews for Egypt

Our trip to and from Egypt was a great success! Since we were able to visit and return home without any hitch. I landed on kimkim by luck, as I wanted assistance with local itinerary organization in a foreign land, which I found most useful since Kimkim works with local specialists. Our local specialist Ibrahim definitely knows the best places and thills of Egypt as we feel we didn't miss any! Thank you! Out local tour guide in Cairo, Islam was so knowledgeable and invested in ensuring we had a great time, while making sense of everything from the monuments, traffic and local food. Our driver Mohammed was a great expert too as we moved quite abit in Cairo, to the east and west. We went south by train and later with tour vans. They navigated through busy streets while making it on time always.

Our visit to Bahariya was awesome, as we were amazed at all the water coming out of the ground in the desert! We visited some date fields and tasted some! The white and black deserts are a must-experience if one has never been to a desert like us! The camping overnight was so peaceful, majestic and quiet! It was probably our best part of the visit. Our area guide Ashraf was so knowledgable of the area, a great 4x4 driver and an excellent cook as well!!

The only snags we noted seem to be part of the culture - talking on the phone while driving, occasional non use of safety belts and smoking. However no one smoked in our midst. By and large everyone from the beginning like Zain and others was courteous and helpful and made our time in Egypt memorable! Thank you!

Ibrahim did a great job for my wife and I, booking tours with Egypt Promotion. Zain, a manager, gave us a local sim to borrow and checked in with us each evening to ensure everything was to our expectations. The guides and drivers were exemplary - special thanks to our Egyptologist guide Ahmed who was amazing, Mohamed and driver Said.
Experiencing the pyramids and temples were obvious highlights - we had a good amount of time to explore these grand structures with so much detail and history. These sites were less crowded than we expected which contributed to how much we enjoyed exploring and taking photos. Scuba diving in Hurghada on the Red Sea was a great experience and we swam with dolphins. Alexandria was bustling and full of things to see and do.

The trip was great. Everything was well organized, and the guides were very knowledgable and flexible. Highly recommended.

The positives:
-Ibrahim planned the very jam-packed tour we hoped for (we had very limited time), and we were able to do everything we hoped for. And when an issue came up with our flights a few weeks before the tour, he was flexible in helping re-arrange some things.
-We were met every time we were supposed to be, and all on time or close to on time.
-The guides were very knowledgeable.
-The guide in Luxor (Ahmed, but the guide in Cairo was also named Ahmed) helped arrange a wonderful evening for us.

Room for improvement:
-The drivers should NEVER, EVER speak on their handheld cell phone when driving.
-There is NEVER a reason to continually quiz the client. This got very old, very fast.
-Both the guides seemed to feel the goal was to spew out as much data, information and trivia as possible. As they were both super knowledgeable, this made it become quite tedious and pretty boring. Telling the historic story, and adding facts and data to put the story in perspective, would have made the tour more fun, interesting and we likely would have learned a lot more if it had been done that way.

We had a wonderful trip to Egypt. We had constant communication with Ibrahim our local specialist and he was always there for us. We had a guide for every stage of our tour and the transfers from one location to another were seamless. Everyone was very kind and the excursions were super fun. We especially enjoyed the Nile Cruise and our trip to the Red Sea in Hurgada. It was a great time and we felt very safe!

My experience in Egypt was great thanks to the guys from Egypt Promotion Travel. I ve been to other countries with some tour packages but never like the one in Egypt. This company have a personal touch, their staff is very firendly and best of all they are very knowledgeable (I felt like they could teach history in University). I was thinking to coordinate my tour in Egypt on my own ut decided to chat with their representative and basically expressed my idea and they were able to put it together in a well scheduled itinerary. I disnt have to look no futher and booked them all. Everything was great; from the temples to the cruise in the nile. I highly recomend them to everyone because of their professionalism and the good safety while they took me around their beautiful country.

The trip turned out to be excellent. There was some confusion re the booking at first regarding the tickets for the plane and the fact they wanted photo copies of our passports, never done before but we later found out it is required by the Police.

So at first a bit of a lack of confidence that all would not be as good as expected or that the trip and people would turn up.

Both trips were excellent and we got exactly what we asked for.

The trip to Giza had a guide who thought he was in a lecture theatre at first but came around after a while.

Yes I would recommend Kim Kim
