What an amazing adventure! I cannot express enough gratitude for the OUTSTANDING AND MIRACULOUS trip that was planned by KimKim and Travel 12 Greece teams.
My family and I had a trip of a lifetime during our 3-week stay in Greece in May 2023.

I want to express my deepest thanks to Eleni Fotiou--our trip EXPERT from KimKim and Travel 12!
Eleni went far, far above and beyond to create a dream vacation for us. Eleni is professional, very friendly, and so supportive.
I cannot tell you the countless emails and phone calls Eleni handled in more than a year's time while we crafted and re-created the trip itinerary to perfection.
Eleni was always patient and had great ideas, offered needed reassurance and many expert tips for the vacation.
Everything was handled with expert care, compassion and extreme attention to detail.
We enjoyed a fantastic time in Athens, the Peloponnese, Mykonos, Santorini and Crete.
Eleni even went so far as to help us contact our Greek family and to arrange a full day visit in a tiny village in Greece with our relatives. It was a miraculous and blessed day for sure! We are forever grateful to Eleni!

In addition, all of the private local drivers that Eleni set up for our trip were equally amazing! Special thanks to Christos and Georgia who helped us get to very, very remote places in Greece---up mountains! We were able to go to both of our grandparents' villages in Greece and meet family members. Both Christos and Georgia (local private drivers) were patient, kind, supportive and were able to offer translation services for us. Just incredible!

Furthermore, all of the local team members working with Eleni were outstanding. During the trip, we were able to communicate at any time day or night via the What's App Business app on my cell phone. This was so helpful for last minute questions and schedule changes--all of which were quickly addressed to my satisfaction.

We saw the most beautiful, historical, heart-warming, and breath-taking places in Greece.
We took over 1500 photos to prove it!

I have only one "complaint"---that the trip had to end! :)

What's not to love? An ocean view of the caldera and a very walkable location between Oia and Fira. Made to order BREAKFAST WAS GREAT, SERVICE TO YOUR PRIVATE ROOM! Wow! This tour will make you very full! We walked through Athens and tried so many different foods. Our favorite was at the end trying the different souvlaki dishes. She was amenable to what we wanted, since we were very full at the end. This is a great way to navigate a city. I always recommend food tours and this one was top notch.

This was altogether an extraordinary one month-long trip planned with great detail by our local specialist, Cristos, and his amazing, caring, and flexible Team 12! Cristos worked tirelessly until every detail was worked out to meet our needs for hotels and tours. All of our transfers were preplanned; at no time did we have to wait for guides or drivers to provide needed transfers. We had ample down time when we reached each destination with suggestions for self-guided tours before beginning with private tours. Our trip began in Thessaloniki (4 nights) where we stayed at the Electra Palace, a gem of a hotel centrally located. Our guide and driver were ready with suggestions for restaurants, points of interest, and were flexible when the focus of our tour required a change to cover the Jewish monuments and history of Thessaloniki. Our tour of this area of Macedonia included Pella and Vergina, ancient historical sites most worthwhile to visit. I am looking forward to exploring more of Macedonia on my next trip.

From Thessaloniki, we continued our trip on the mainland of Greece to Athens where we stayed in a large 3-bedroom suite apartment, Four Streets Athens (5 nights), centrally located in the Plaka district with a view of the Acropolis. Again we had time to wander about the Plaka and Kolonaki areas before beginning our private tours on the succeeding days: the Acropolis and museum, a food tour, and trips away from Athens (Epidaurus, Nafplio, Mycenae, Corinth Canal). Other very worthwhile tours included the Cycladic Museum and the Benake Museum.

From Athens, we flew to Mykonos to begin our trip to three of the Cycladic Islands plus Crete. Unfortunately, as May turned out to be a rather unseasonably cool month, we were unable to enjoy beach/swimming opportunities; however, we happily exchanged this weather for fewer crowds, especially appreciated when we got to Santorini!! Mykonos with its iconic windmills was lovely and quiet for this time of the year. We checked into the Mykonos Theoxenia Boutique, an elegant setting on the water, a few steps from town, with staff who couldn't do enough for their guests. From Mykonos we took a boat tour to Delos, an archeological site not to be missed. Our only disappointment was that we were included in a large group tour which made it difficult to understand the narrative.
On to Naxos, quite a contrast to Mykonos and then Santorini. The island's lush vegetation creates a rich farming and culinary tradition with some of the best produce in Greece, particularly famed for potatoes, cheeses, and olive oils. We stayed at the Montana Villa Naxos (4 nights), some distance from the town; however, having a driver and an excellent restaurant in walking distance (Kavos), this proved to be no problem. In in exchange, we had a beautiful view over the Aegean Sea. The grounds and pool of the villa were amazing but the weather was too cool to take a dip! The house lends itself well to a family; however, we three women experienced disappointing showering facilities (no shower curtain, high bath tubs to negotiate), but I would welcome a summer stay in spite of this detail. Our stay in Naxos included a private food and culture tour (olive oil, Greek liquor, cheeses, and lunch) as well as a private hike through the mountains with many varied sites and villages. Both opportunities not to be missed!! As our weather did not allow for beach time, we explored the many interesting shops and ruins of Naxos Hora and enjoyed a beach walk with lunch.
From Naxos, we continued on to the famed island of Santorini, much enjoyed because of the lesser crowds. Can't imagine what it must be like in summer: crowds plus the heat!! We stayed at the Volcano View Hotel (3 nights) with gorgeous pool areas and views of the caldera, just far away enough from the very busy center of Santorini. Interesting tours were arranged for us which included walks through Fira and quieter Oia. We also visited a lovely situated winery (Santorini is famous for its white wines). We had a great sail on a catamaran in the caldera from where we could get amazing views of the caldera's varied volcanic layers. The crew was professional and had a great sense of humor, hospitality and cooking skills. Great experience not to be missed. Before we left Santorini, we treated ourselves to a multi-coursed dinner at the famous restaurant, Solene. Fabulous experience, food, and service.
And so onto our last island, Crete, a famous culinary experience according to many a waiter and guide we encountered on our trip. We arrived first in Heraklion, site of Palace of Knossos. After a detailed tour of that site, we were ready to move on to Chania at the other end of the island. The old town of Heraklion has some interesting, upcoming restaurants; one day/evening is enough for this city. (We stayed at the Aquila Atlantis Hotel (2 nights), adequate for a short stay.) Chania is most charming by comparison. Our hotel, the 1400's Scala de Faro (4 nights), was right on the water (some rooms have beautiful views). The staff was most amazing and could fix any problem a guest might face. The town behind the hotel is great for wandering and shopping. As with the other islands, the Venetian influence is everywhere. So here is where our trip got 'interesting.' We were supposed to travel from Greece to Israel, but given the political situation, we were forced to look at options. Cristos sprung into action, and in no time had an itinerary for us to return to the mainland and further explore areas we had not seen (eg Hydra) or wanted to revisit (Nafplio). Furthermore, I had a bad fall on one of the beaches; our driver sensed the emergency and in no time drove me to a private clinic in Chania. All went well, transportation was provided to and from the clinic for two days. I received excellent medical care. Here is where being under the care of a caring responsible travel company and personnel was so very important!! The rest of the trip went without a hitch with Cristos finding us a charming hotel in Nafplio, Residenza di Fedralia, for four days until we were transported to Athens for our trip home.

So all in all, I can't say enough about Kimkim. Cristos planned a wonderful trip for us with a perfect balance of guided and self-guided tours. Suggestions were made for restaurants, but we enjoyed doing our own research in this category. We had very responsive support from his Team 12 &MAMAKITA) whenever needed, every question or request answered immediately. Looking forward to my next trip with Kimkim!!

We had a wonderful holiday, a history tour around the Peloponese. The guides were excellent at the Acropolis, Mycanae, Epidaurus and Olympia.

Didn’t love this one and actually checked out a day early. The room was extra small, the bed very hard with small, flat pillows, couldnt get the ac to work and burned up at night. My panoramic view was seen over a huge roof, so not quite as advertised. No parking anywhere. Small bar but unattended. On the bright side, clean, breakfast was super and the town is adorable. It will only take about an hour to explore the whole things. Wonderful restaurant across the street with a better view. Walk to Delphi in 10 minutes.

Triple Swim Day Trip near Corinth

A lovely day spent waaaay off the beaten path. It was a little awkward at first since we picked our guide up on the side of an exit in a parking lot to a cemetery. However, she was lovely. We drove over an hour to get to the hiking spot to go to the waterfall. I will say that we weren’t prepared at all. The “gentle river trekking” was actually walking and climbing up a rapid river, over boulders, loads of large rocks in freezing cold water. At the end was a beautiful water fall - which I got in to and thought I may have died it was so cold. That said, it was very invigorating and honestly felt healing. You need special hiking shoes for this - we only had sneakers. The rest was easy and oh so beautiful. The lunch boxes were so special and delicious as was the dinner at an adorable local taverna. Our guide was wonderful.

Such amazing activity and the guide was simply the best. We really enjoyed an easy day of paddling, some history, a lovely walk, some beach time and overall just a perfect day. Snorkeling the old Roman villa was a real highlight.

A real highlight of our trip! We didn’t know what to expect but we thought this was the bees knees (pun fully intended!). We spent a few hours privately with a bee keeps in the middle of an ancient olive orchard learning all about the bees. The honey was divine.

Delicious lunch with amazing olive oils and tapenades. Seriously good. Loved sitting down and learning from the owner about his history, the ancient groves and its importance. We did not go into the grove or see production, however. It was a lovely lunch and we bought all the products with breathtaking views.

Saronic Islands Day Cruise

This was a nice day trip. We had VIP package which was nice. The pro’s were that you get to see 3 islands, spend a day at sea, VIP lounge with your own waitress, and first on/off. That said, you only get a little time on the islands, the food was meh, and it’s a lot of people. If I had to do it again, I’d charter my own boat.

The best! We really enjoyed the unique tour and focus on both mythology and history. Our guide was funny, engaging and thoughtful. She made sure we had shady spots and rocks to get out of the sun often. Highly recommend.

I would highly recommend kimkim and Tasos at Travel12.
We had a very intentional agenda to experience historic Greece, it people, food, culture and history in a relatively short 10 day window, with a group of 8 adults. After trying to make the arrangements ourselves, we realized we couldn't really understand the quality of restaurants, accommodations, historic sites, and local guides, as well as arrange transfer easily. Therefore we reached out kimkim, who paired up with Tasos, at Travel 12.

Tasos understood exactly what we were looking for. He located quality, knowledgable guides. The guides were patient with our numerous questions, and gave you time to explore and absorb the experience beyond the "set" times. We experienced every site and activity we had desired. The trip even included a roundtrip flight to Crete, to learn about Minoan culture, the start of western civilization.
The transportation vehicles Tasos arranged were modern, clean, spacious air-conditioned vehicles. We were fed delicious, healthy, local food, in abundance, prepared fresh. We sampled each of the native Greece wine varietals.
Tickets were obtained in advance so we spent minimal time waiting in line. If there were questions or clarification needed day or night, we could contact travel12 for information, or to confirm a pick-up time and place. We didn't have "down time" working out logistics.

I can't say enough about the value Tasos and Kim Kim added to the trip. It was a hassle free experience, of high quality venues. We are already contemplating a return trip to Greece or Magna Graecia, in Italy. We will definitely return to these services in the future.

Sailing & Gastronomy in the Athenian Riviera

What an amazing evening! We sailed out of Athens to enjoy a sunset cruise aboard the Aiolis, eat freshly prepared Greek Cuisine, and enjoy local wine varieties. One highlight was swimming off-shore in the evening, in 20 feet of crystal clear Aegean Sea water. The captian, Yani, shared nautical tales, and gave us insight into the Greek attitudes and beliefs. He and the first mate brought course after course of local Greek food, that they prepared in the ship galley. By the end of the evening we understood the Greek mindset of welcoming the stranger, sealed with much laughter and two rounds of Ouzo as we pulled into port.

Very personable and energetic crew to make the most of your experience

I didn't ever think I would use a travel agent. It's not very "millennial," but with a wife in medical school, two-year-old at home, and a full-time job, I decided to take my dad's advice and try out KimKim to plan our honeymoon vacation to Greece (after three years of delays due to the pandemic).

I couldn't have been more happy with my choice! Eleni and Mariliza were fantastic and picked out guides, tours, and experiences that were exactly what my wife and I were looking for. It was such a relief not to have to book hotels, worry about transportation, etc. The service was really out of this world and deeply refreshing to someone used to scrounging for deals on AirBnBs and fretting over public transit when traveling abroad.

In particular, my wife and I loved our experiences hiking in Meteora and Zagori. Our guide (Jim) in Meteora was very knowledge, but also hilarious and a great story-teller. We had a blast the whole time. I had never even heard of Vikos Gorge until Eleni suggested it, but ended up loving hiking out in the remote mountains of Eprius. Our guide (Athena) in Vikos was patient, engaging, and very attentive to our level of fatigue/comfort through the hike. The restaurant recommendations we got throughout the trip were also fantastic--with so many options to choose from (esp. in Athens) it was great to be able to pick from a smaller list. We never had a disappointing meal!

We also appreciated that Eleni/Mariliza were willing to let us "take the reigns" toward the end of the trip. My father is Greek and we wanted to spend time visiting family in Kavala. Eleni/Mariliza arranged a very smooth transition from the part of the trip they planned with the time that we spent seeing relatives. It was reassuring to know that they were there and available to help if we needed them, but not pushing us to buy/do things that we didn't want or need to.

Overall, we are really happy. Next time we take a big trip abroad, we will definitely use KimKim. This was so much better and more relaxing than doing everything ourselves. Now that I've tried a modern travel agency, I don't think I can ever go back. :)

My husband and I did a 10 day trip to Athens, Naxos, and Santorini and had a blast. Angela was the absolute best! Anything we needed she made it happen and made sure our trip was stress free. We would highly recommend her!

Rave reviews for Christos and the Travel 12 team. They were there any and every moment of the way during the 30 days in Greece. Every detail went as planned… well, almost. One private tour had a misunderstanding with the guide which was resolved quickly. Did NOT like this ‘Villa.’ The word villa is an overstatement. Odd layout of the house for bedrooms. Leaking living room roof and bathroom floor. The owner was defensive over issues when we had to call him to fix the electricity that went out in the living room (probably due to water in the ceiling). He suggested we overloaded the system. Really????? We were out the entire day!!! It was not very clean in the cabinets and too much evidence of someone living there. Yuck. The oven was not set up so no way to use it. No toaster… when we asked about it 2 days later, the comment back was “you can’t expect me to make sure everything is working.” Really??? Beds were not comfortable, bedding in downstairs bedroom didn’t fit, exposing the mattress, yuck. I slept on the blanket. Downstairs tub was so high it was dangerous to get in/out. Towel bar was rehung at about 6’, impossible to reach. The holes were remaining from being moved up. The best thing about the property was the pool and view. That’s it!

Day-Trip to Delos Island

This place was HUGE! There were lots of groups, and we were thrown into one with headsets to listen to the guide. The audio wasn’t working well and there was so much overlap between groups and guides walking around, that the frequencies kept getting mixed up. I abandoned my set and just tried to listen. I would have preferred to walk around, self guided as there were plenty of placards around.

Our guide was great. He was knowledgeable and friendly. We learned so much about the history of the island. We walked through iconic areas for the best photo opportunities. We were dropped at the winery while he waited outside. Wine tasting was at Artemis Karamolegos. There were 3 tastings and we talked them into 2 more! Very generous (we bought a bottle!). We got little nibbles for 2, even though they knew there were 3 of us. We had to ask for more food! They were very nice about it.

Our google map link for this restaurant was facing the water with a beautiful outdoor setting. The owner (assuming) rudely told us we need to go to the ‘other one’ and pointed in the direction to go. Apparently they are owned by the same family. The ‘other one’ was on a back street so we ate inside (nothing special). The food was fresh and good but we didn’t appreciate how we were handled.

Only 6 of us in the group tour (3 were us). We went for Turkish style coffee, olive oil tasting + cheese, a quick souvlaki at her favorite place, and then lunch. Lunch was sharing traditional Greek dishes. The guide was also a therapist who was on a cleansing fast. So, she did not share any of our food. 🙃 She was very nice and included the fish and meat markets, and a spice store as we were walking around. All in all, good tour.

I really can't say enough good things about our trip to Greece thanks to Chris and the travel 12 team. everything was done for us, which made the trip extremely easy and enjoyable. Kim Kim easily connected us with a local agent in Greece. With our input, Amalia planned an amazing 8 days for us in Athens, Paros and Santorini. While we would have liked to have hadthe final itinerary a little bit sooner so we could possibly make some scheduling changes, I understand they need to protect their resources so people don't cut them out and go directly to the source. Having said that, all of the excursions we did were amazing. All of our drivers showed up on time and were very nice. And when there was one issue, Julia, our on-call emergency person, resolved it quickly and fairly. And with all of the info in one convenient place on an app, it was easy to track where to go and what do do next.

I don't know what "feel like a local" is but I assume this is our Organic Farm tour? IF so, this was fantastic!! The farm is absolutely stunning and impressive. Alkis, the farmer, was so much fun to talk to and unbelievably knowledgeable and impressive in what he does. We enjoyed this tour very much and our guide, Vickie, was extremely knowledgeable. This is a very specific type of tour- it's a mythology tour, limited to the acropolis, Olympian Zeus temple and the Agora. For us we would have preferred perhaps 2.5 hours of the mythology behind these sites and then a walking tour of some Athens neighborhoods as we didn't know the city at all.

Angela was very helpful in coordinating our trip. I would rate the trip an 8 out of 10. Angela was always available to check in on us and to fix our hotel in Tinos. The hotel in Santorini was spectacular. From that perspective, Angela did more than our other trip planners for other countries.

The reason that I rate Angela as a 4 is not entirely her fault. My two main issues were the hotel in Tinos, and the number of islands we visited, which I now think was too many. We should have visited Santorini and one other island. Perhaps the second island would have been larger so we could spend more time there. One lesser issue was the hotel in Naxos, which was too small, so we booked an additional room. Additionally, that hotel was less than expected and the "spectacular" view was of a back street.

Angela helped us find an alternate hotel in Tinos. The comment on visiting too many islands is from the extensive time we spent on ferries: four trips and several hours. The ferries were typically late, so that we would spend most of the day in transit or waiting for a ferry. Making three trips would have been better than the four we took.

We have travelled in Germany, France, Spain and Greece in recent years, using a tour planning service in the last three trips. I planned the Germany trip on my own, and we had problems with moving around the country, and some of the hotels were not great. The reason we use a service like yours is to avoid the transit and hotel mishaps that we had in Germany and Greece. In that sense, we were a little disappointed.

Just back from a 9 day walk through the history of Rome, Athens and Naxos, organized by Harris and his team. We learned so much, saw so much and did it effortlessly, thanks to the organization of Harris. It was amazing to just show up to places, have our transportation ready with friendly drivers and lovely accommodations, knowledgeable and fun private guides. Our highlight was definitely Pompeii, with a fantastic and passionate local guide. In Rome, our private guide lead us through the deeper recesses of the Colosseum. While the schedule was busy, it was not overpacked. Naxos was a revelation, the island just smells good when hiking! Our food tour on the last day was the perfect end. It was all we could have hoped for.
