What you'll do
This activity allows you to see Athens through the eyes of a local. You'll meet your guide at Syntagma Square, situated at the center of Athens. This an important historical area housing the Parliament, where you'll get a chance to catch the Changing of the Guards.
Make your way down to Kolonaki, the city's posh area where people of high status have always settled. It's renowned for its shopping streets packed with high-end boutiques and fashionable clothing stores where top Greek designers sell their products. Walk around neoclassical and modernist buildings and enjoy the sight of this beautiful architectural harmony.
You'll discover anarchist hot spot Exarchia, a neighborhood associated with forward-thinking, creativity, and youth culture. As your guide fills you in on the neighborhood's revolutionary history, you'll learn why this area is called the rebellious quarters of the city. Since every building is considered a canvas here, you'll also notice a lot of street art graffiti.
Next, your guide will take you to Psiri, a beautiful authentic neighborhood untouched by mass tourism.
