Highland Cow Cuddling & Farm Visit, Inverness

This authentic Scottish experience begins at a meeting point in Drumnadrochit, where you'll board a shuttle for a scenic five-minute transfer to a traditional working croft, set on a hillside overlooking Loch Ness. Your host is Ian, a local farmer, who'll greet you with a warm welcome and take you on a stroll around the farm as you learn how his family has worked this land for eight generations. Then he'll lead you to the pastures or the barn for the main event: meeting his small herd of shaggy Highland "coos " (and if you're visiting during late spring, some of the adorable new arrivals).

You'll have plenty of time to spend getting to know Heather, Fiona, and the rest of the herd, with opportunities to hand-feed them their favorite treats (these are beloved family pets and used to plenty of attention!). You'll also get to chat with Ian about the history of this hearty native breed, hear what life is like on a Highland croft, and snap some frame-worthy photos against a spectacular backdrop of Loch Ness and the ruins of Castle Urquhart. After 45 minutes of cow cuddling and fresh air on the farm, it's time to say your goodbyes and head to the van for the short transfer back to Drumnadrochit.
