What you'll do

This private, five-hour excursion begins with a pickup from your Milos hotel and a transfer to the Pollonia harbor, where you'll board a ferry for the short, 25-minute crossing to Kimolos. Located barely a mile off the northeastern shores of Milos, this small island is home to just 900 inhabitants, and its pristine beaches, sheltered coves, and distinctive volcanic chalk landscapes feel a world away from the tourist crowds of larger Cycladic hotspots.

Upon arrival, you'll start with a stroll around the sleepy, whitewashed island capital (or Chora), learning about its history as your expert guide leads you down winding, cobbled alleys to the remains of its medieval Kastro (castle) and 17th and 18th-century churches. You'll also explore the wilder northern side of the island with a drive to the traditional fishing village of Goupa, and some time to relax on Prassa Beach, an idyllic stretch of fine white sand and turquoise waters.

After more beach time on the island's southern coast, visiting prime swimming spots like Kalamitsi and Bonatsa, you'll take an afternoon stroll through Psathi, the island's picturesque port lined with cubic Cycladic architecture and pebbled beaches. Then it's time to say your goodbyes and board the ferry back to Milos, arriving in Pollonia in the early afternoon.
