Milos Hiking & Sailing Adventure, Milos

Combine relaxation with adventure by hiking the west side coast of Milos and sailing around the Aegean Sea. You'll start your day with a hike along the coast to Kleftiko Beach, where a beautiful beach and a sailing boat await. Upon reaching the rocky shores, gear up and paddle along the beach or cool off with a refreshing swim. Then meet your captain and sail away to the port of Adama or Polonia. You can try your hand at steering the boat, snap some photos of the breathtaking coastline, or anchor in a serene cove and take a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear waters. The rest of your journey is entirely up to you!

Combine three memorable activities on this excursion in Milos. You'll start by meeting your driver, who will pick you up with 4WD Jeep and take you to the furthest accessible point of the west side near Agios Ioannis Siderianos Monestry, where you'll begin your trek. This easy hike covers about 2 miles (3km) and will take you about an hour to complete. Although not too challenging, be prepared for some steeper stretches along the way. Some parts of the path are challenging to do in sandals, so closed hiking shoes are highly recommended.  

As you reach the end of the path, you'll discover smooth, flat rocks leading right into the crystal-clear waters of Kleftiko. The beach is located in a secluded cove, surrounded by towering cliffs sculpted by the wind and sea. As you swim farther from the shore, you'll discover a wonderland of sea caves, arches, and tunnels waiting to be explored. Legend has it that Kleftiko's caves were used by pirates as a place to hide, with one cave even rumored to hold their treasure which was never discovered. 

If the weather is not windy that day and the water is still, you can easily see to the bottom. If you'd like, you can snorkel with provided gear to get an up-close view of the colorful fish and coral, or you can simply float on your back and soak up the tranquility of the moment. Take a breather and make the most of your surroundings. You can relax, jump off the cliffs, or simply take a refreshing swim. After that, your captain will be ready to take you on your next exciting adventure.

Following a quick briefing, you'll embark on your journey and chart your course either westward to Adamas or southeastward back to Pollonia, depending on what's best for the day. Refuel and recharge with a homemade lunch prepared and served by the crew on board. As you glide along the coastline, take in the breathtaking scenery, unwind, and learn a bit about sailing techniques or lend a hand steering the boat with the captain. If weather permits, you can even drop anchor and enjoy a refreshing swim in the sea.
