What you'll do

Your morning begins with a quintessential Roman breakfast—flaky cornetto paired with an espresso or frothy cappuccino—setting the tone for a relaxed exploration of la Città Eterna. With your small group of fellow early risers, you'll meet your guide and set off while Rome is still quiet and unhurried. Start at the Spanish Steps, where soft morning light illuminates the famous staircase before it fills with visitors. From here, wander through Rome's narrow, cobblestone streets, uncovering hidden details and hearing stories that bring centuries of history to life: from artists and architects to emperors and the Roman elite.

Next, enter the Pantheon—one of ancient Rome's most extraordinary architectural achievements. Inside, admire the vast concrete dome and open oculus, and learn how this former pagan temple has endured nearly two millennia. You'll also see the tombs of notable figures, including Raphael, while sunlight filters dramatically into the space.

Continuing on, you'll reach Piazza Navona, a grand (oval-shaped) square built atop an ancient stadium and today animated by artists, musicians, and cafés. Centered around Bernini's Fountain of the Four Rivers, it's the perfect place to linger, people-watch, and learn the symbolism behind its Baroque design.

No visit to Rome would be complete without seeing one of the most famous fountains in the world, the Trevi Fountain. Still fed by one of the city's ancient aqueducts, this Baroque masterpiece is a celebration of water itself, symbolizing its power and bounty through its sculptures. Your guide will elaborate on the fountain's symbolism and legends before you toss in a coin to ensure your return to Rome. And if you're lucky, you might just be able to snap a pic of the impressive fountain without the crowds—a great way to welcome the day in Rome.
