Overview

Stroll through the charming and historic Old Town of Chania with an expert local guide on this 2.5-hour private walking tour. After getting acquainted with your certified guide, you'll explore some of the city's historic neighborhoods, including Topanas, Splantzia, Colombo, and Kasteli. Enjoy narrow cobbled streets adorned with flowers and hillside panoramic views of the harbor. Peek into traditional Cretan taverns and shops, and admire the Old Town's varied architecture from the Cretans, Venetians, and Ottomans.

Dive into the past and visit the ruins of Kydonia, the great Minoan city. Petros was very accommodating as we got there a bit late due to traffic and could not find parking close to the meeting spot. He is very knowledgeable about the area and its history. He recommended a great place for lunch that was not overwhelmed by tourists. Chania is a delightful place with a lot of history to explore. Read more

Tips for future travelers

If you are not staying in Chania and traveled by car, leave ample time for finding a parking spot.

Coastal Greece has a lot of history from the ancient times, Venetian then Ottoman occupation. All have left their imprint on the island.

The archeological museum is outstanding. And really helps understand Kydonia. We certainly should have been directed there.
