Private Akrotiri Lighthouse Sunset Tour, Santorini

Discover one of Santorini's iconic sunset spots at Akrotiri Lighthouse.

Overview

Discover one of Santorini's iconic sunset spots at Akrotiri Lighthouse. This 19th-century lighthouse is one of Greece's oldest and sits on the island's most southwesterly point. A French company built it in 1892, and it was a staple of Santorini before WWII. In 1945, the Greek Navy recommissioned it, and it still runs today.

Your guide will collect you and drive out to the rugged point, sharing some of Santorini's history and the importance of Greek lighthouses along the way. Akrotiri Lighthouse is one of the country's first, and some call it the most beautiful in the Cyclades. Its white-washed building fits the island's aesthetic with a backdrop of the open sea, making it a popular spot to watch the sunset.

While you take in the views and watch the sun melt into the Aegean Sea, enjoy a chilled bottle of local wine. Once the sun has disappeared behind the horizon, you’ll head to a charming restaurant for local appetizers.
