What you'll do

Embark on a full-day exploration of Delphi and its surrounding area, where the ancient past and present meet. This stunning setting, located on the lower slopes of Mount Parnassos, is home to unique temples and monuments, traditional crafts, and unexplored villages. Start by visiting one of these villages, where you can explore a largely abandoned old town neighborhood that used to be the Leather Tanner's district. Explore a century of history and culture from the perspective of tanners - a father and son - and discover how life has remained largely unchanged here. You may also be lucky enough to visit the last bell-maker in Greece, who will show you the art of bell making and the bells that the local villagers use for their livestock. Please note that his workshop is not open to visitors at all times.

After taking a break for lunch and savoring local delicacies from the region, such as cheeses, olives, and a traditional regional specialty, it's time to explore the ancient oracle of the Gods. Visit the ruins of the Temple of Apollo, the reconstructed Athenian Treasury, and the Theater, and take your time to appreciate the splendor and spiritual power of this sacred site.

When you've seen all there is to see outside, head to the Delphi Museum, a short walk downhill from the site. Here you can admire the bronze Charioteer of Delphi, the haunting Sphinx of Naxos, and the very first recorded notation of a musical melody, contained in an ancient inscription from the walls of the original Athenian Treasury.

At the end of the day, depart with memories of the mountain, the town, and the incomparable ancient Delphi.
