San Gimignano & Chianti E-Bike Tour

Explore the culturally rich region of Tuscany with a guided e-bike and wine tour. You'll visit villages and historical sites such as San Gimignano and Staggia and pedal across vineyards and the Chianti Classico area fields. Cycle along bike paths and countryside lanes with no vehicular traffic, taste organic wine, and enjoy a picnic in nature!

The tour starts with San Gimignano, the beautiful and romantic “town of towers.” As one of the most characteristic of Tuscany’s hilltop villages, this little hamlet features numerous austere medieval towers that survived tumultuous centuries. Next, walk along the ancient Via Francigena, the main route to Rome for European travelers and pilgrims, and peruse the artisanal boutiques and shops. You’ll find saffron, known as “red gold,” the centuries-old Vernaccia white wine, and leather and ceramic goods. You’ll also have time to visit the San Gimignano Cathedral or Civic Museum.

After visiting San Gimignano, get acquainted with your e-bike and let the adventure begin! Enjoy passing through scenic Tuscan landscapes covered in vineyards and valleys. Your first stop will be in Staggia, where you’ll visit its castle. The famous Soarzi family built this hamlet and its fortress around 994 CE. Its location sits strategically between Siena and Florence, two towns that were big enemies at the time.

Your next stop is a picturesque location in the countryside where you’ll have a picnic lunch of fresh, regional products. Then continue your ride along the Chianti Classico paths, passing forests, neat rows of vineyards, and medieval villages. At the end of the cycling portion of the tour, you’ll visit a winery for a real Chianti Classico experience! Meet the family that runs the winery and taste the famous red wines, learning all the secrets behind the varietals and their production.
