What you'll do

The day begins with pick-up at your hotel. You'll transfer to the starting point of the excursion, where you'll meet your guide and receive safety instructions. Once you have the necessary equipment, you'll board an open-air gondola. Next, you'll ride the aerial tramway to the top of a mountain, enjoying panoramic views of the forest scenery as you travel.

At the top of the mountain, take some time to walk around the Hand of Arenal, a famous lookout point. Then, it's time to connect to the first zipline cable and start your journey down the hill. You'll ride on seven different zipline cables, soaring above the trees on a thrilling adventure and reaching 660 feet (201 meters). As you ride, take in the panoramic views of Arenal Volcano and Lake Arenal.

Next, you'll enjoy a leisurely 2-mile (3-km) guided hike along the park's nature trails and five hanging bridges, some of which reach 230 feet (70 meters) above the ground. Along the way, your guide will tell you about the park's flora and fauna and how it varies by elevation. You'll also pass two waterfalls, the taller of which is 82 feet (25 meters). From here, you'll climb some steps and do some uphill walking before enjoying the provided transfer back to La Fortuna.

Highly recommend this zip line- the views were absolutely stunning and there is a restaurant/bar with amazing views of Arenal Lake and volcano where you can eat after. The hanging bridges were great and our tour guide was awesome however we did not see any wildlife. Read more

The walk was just ok. Nice views and learned a bit about the rain forest.
The real highlight is the zip lining of course.

First tour was with Sky Tram, Sky Walk and Sky Trek with Sky Arenal Park. the Zip Lining was awesome and we followed it up with a forest hike and tour. I would have done a different forest hike maybe rather than just using the same company. Not that our guide was not knowledgeable, just that I had heard a lot about the 7 bridges hike and thought that was what we were doing. Read more

It was very rainy that morning, but we still had a great time on the ziplines. It does take some patience before you get up the mountain as they can only transport a certain number of people at the same time. But it was worth the wait.
We usually do not opt in for pics taken during these types of activities ,but this time it was definitely worth it as they captured all four of us a lot better than we could have with our phone cameras.

Our walk through the rainforest was a bit impacted by very strong rains at times, which affected not only visibility but also the animals (or the lack thereof) . Our guide definitely tried to make up for it. He spotted quite a few different snakes in trees, that again we would have missed without him for sure. While a hike down to the waterfall was not part of the program he chose to include it to make up for the lack of animal sightings which we very much appreciated. He knew his stuff and still turned the walk into a memorable experience.

Tips for future travelers

Don't follow google maps directions for this one. There are directions included on all the activities but for some reason we didn't use them this time and almost missed our scheduled time as we got lost...Due to bad reception it was a bit challenging to figure it out. In the end our local contact ended up helping us out which was very much appreciated. Had we followed the KimKim directions we would not have been in that situation.
