What you'll do

Join an experienced captain and a small group of fellow travelers for a scenic day of sailing around Milos' unsoiled coastline. Your day begins as you step aboard a comfortable twin-hulled catamaran and leave the port in Adamas, passing charming traditional fishing villages with distinctive "sirmata" houses built right on the sea. You'll spot coastal highlights like the volcanic formations at Arkoudes and the colorful red rocks of Cape Vani, and make your first stop for a swim or some snorkeling in the sheltered natural bay of Kalogries.

Hoist sail again and follow the island's western coast down to Sikia, a dramatic sea cave famed for its turquoise waters and open roof. The highlight of the day is when you drop anchor among the unusual rock formations of Kleftiko, a hidden bay surrounded by white cliffsides and caves carved by centuries of wind and waves. This beautiful spot was once a lair for pirates, and it's still only accessible by boat. After plenty of time to swim, snorkel, and explore the many grottoes and pebble beaches, climb back aboard the boat for a home-cooked lunch of Greek classics.

After lunch, continue along the island's southern coast, where you can stop to enjoy the fine white sands and natural hot springs at Gerakas, then sail over to neighboring Polyaigos, Greece's largest uninhabited island that's home to a spectacular natural lagoon. You'll pass the small island of Kimolos as you head back toward Milos, then cruise into the island's eastern port of Pollonia around 7 pm. After saying your goodbyes to the captain and crew, a van will be waiting to transfer you back to Adamas.

This was our favorite family boating activity. Captain George was so fun. We enjoyed the choppy waves and 8 hours of sunshine sailing to different snorkeling spots. The size of the catamaran was perfect for us. It wasn’t a huge group on the boat so it made it fun to be close to the water and you could relax on different parts of the boat.
