Wine Tasting in the Heart of Athens, Athens

Dive into the world of Greek wine during a two-hour evening wine-tasting experience. Sample five varieties of Greek wine while you learn about the country's long history of wine-making. A certified expert will guide you through the science and culture of wine-making as you pair wines with cheeses, meats, and olives, and socialize with other travelers in a small friendly group.  

In the early evening, head to a cozy wine-tasting atelier in the heart of Athens, near Thiseio metro station. Your host will greet you and offer you some water to cleanse your palette before beginning your wine tasting. First, your sommelier will introduce you to the history of winemaking in Greece, beginning with its role in ancient Greek mythology. When the explanation has finished, you will be able to sample a variety of Greek reds and whites made from different grapes accompanied by some of the country's delicious cheese, cold cuts, and olives.

In this activity, you will also learn how to evaluate wine and the proper sommelier techniques for tasting and smelling.
