Foxhill Manor, Broadway
Private all-inclusive countryhome hotel with bespoke dining, unlimited drinks and snacks, media room, hot tub, and sauna just outside Broadway
Overview
Kimkim's Take
- Has an incredible "wow" factor. Luxurious yet homey. A countryside dream.
- The outdoor hot tub and sauna overlook the wooded countryside, and the House Spa at Dormy House includes pools, thermal facilities, and bookable treatments, with an included chauffeur service to Broadway and the spa a bonus.
- The setting is pure Cotswolds fantasy, from the dramatic tree-lined entrance and rolling countryside views to an estate that feels pulled from a period film.
- Rooms are exceptionally spacious for an English hotel, with oversized bathrooms, freestanding soaking tubs, cozy lounge areas, and a media room.
- Dining is top-notch, and meant to be personal rather than formal; there are no rigid meal times or set menus, and the chefs tailor dishes around your preferences and seasonal ingredients.
- You'll have Champagne, cocktails, and unlimited savory snacks, cakes and pastries, and access to the contents within The Pantry.
- Great choice for honeymooners, anniversaries, or travelers who want a true "stay put and unwind" countryside escape with the added perk of having a personal host on call 24/7.
- This is definitely a splurge stay, and rates can feel steep even with the all-inclusive perks factored in.
- The rural location is a bit out of the way and less convenient if you're traveling without a car or don't want to rely on taxis and hotel transfers.
- Spa treatments at sister stay, Dormy House, cost extra, even though spa access itself is included in the room rate.
Authenticity
Foxhill Manor captures the classic romance of the Cotswolds with its honey-stoned exterior and its setting overlooking the Vale of Evesham within the sprawling Farncombe Estate. Built in 1909, the Arts and Crafts manor feels more like a privately owned countryside home than a traditional hotel; there isn't a reception desk, but warm, welcoming staff greet you and give you a tour. Tables are laden with help-yourself "nibbles" and drinks, like gin and tonic and elderflower cordial, while interiors in an elevated English country aesthetic showcase nature-inspired artwork, cozy lounge spaces, and original stucco ceilings and stone fireplaces. Chefs create bespoke meals from seasonal ingredients and guests' input, free to dine whenever and wherever they please—reinforcing the relaxed, slow-paced socializing long associated with visiting the English countryside.
Location
Foxhill Manor makes a memorable first impression with its tree-lined approach and hilltop setting above the village of Broadway in the Cotswolds, surrounded by countryside and big views over the Vale of Evesham. It's about a 30-minute downhill walk into Broadway, though the rural setting is much easier to navigate for travelers with a car or those happy to rely on taxis and hotel-arranged transfers (complimentary). Historic Chipping Campden is a 10-minute drive away, while Moreton-in-Marsh station is about 14 minutes, with train connections from London Paddington taking around 90 minutes. Room rates also include chauffeur service to House Spa at nearby sister property, Dormy House.
Rooms & Bathrooms
Eight spacious, individually styled bedrooms have their own character, from a muted color palette of creams and taupes to pops of color in textiles and accent walls. You may find delicate wallpaper motifs, mullion windows, pintucked furniture, and ornate coffer ceilings. Even smaller rooms are unusually large (by UK hotel standards), while suites like Oak and Chestnut offer generous layouts, living areas, four-poster beds, and sweeping country views. Bathrooms are a major highlight, with many featuring oversized soaking tubs (some roll-top and/or claw-foot), walk-in showers, and dual basins, with Temple Spa products and plush robes and slippers. Oak is especially romantic, with twin slipper baths angled by a bay window overlooking the countryside, and Juniper, on the ground floor, is wheelchair accessible.
Amenities
Foxhill Manor offers two packages: the Full Fox and Half Fox. Both include breakfast, house Champagne and drinks, lounge cakes and pastries, pantry snacks, private hot tub and sauna access (complete with a buzzer for Champagne), and use of the award-winning House Spa at sister property Dormy House with transfers included, as well as to/from Broadway. The Full Fox package adds all-inclusive cocktails, wine, and personalized lunch and dinner crafted by the chef around your tastes, with meals served where and when you like—from breakfast in bed to dinner in The Den with a film on its big screen. Guests can also take advantage of e-bikes, countryside activities across the Farncombe Estate, such as archery, ax throwing, and clay pigeon shooting, and a dedicated, personal host available 24/7.
Family-Friendliness
Foxhill Manor is better suited to couples and adults looking for a quiet, indulgent countryside escape than to families with young children. Rooms sleep only two guests, while furry family members (pups) over a year old stay for a small charge.
Wildlife
The 500-acre (202 ha) Farncombe Estate includes open fields, woodland, and walking areas where you may spot birds and other typical English countryside wildlife, including deer, fox, and perhaps even badgers. And if you sign up for a falconry session on the estate, you'll encounter owls, kestrels, and falcons.
