Fretheim Fjordhytter, Flåm
Traditional waterfront cabins offering fjord views, private boating, cozy fireplaces, and proximity to local amenities
Overview
Fretheim Fjordhytter is a collection of four traditional wooden cabins nestled at the edge of the Aurlandsfjord in beautiful Flåm. This location was once a tiny organic orchard and now offers a retreat with fjord and mountain views. The cabins are conveniently located just a short stroll away from the Flåm railway station and harbor, with local amenities, including a grocery store, bakery, and restaurants nearby.
Each cabin at Fretheim Fjordhytter can comfortably accommodate up to six guests across its three bedrooms. The ground floor of each cabin features an open-plan lounge and kitchen area, complete with a wood burner stove and a bedroom with a double bed. The kitchen is fully equipped, including a dishwasher and coffee machine. There are two more bedrooms on the upper floor—one with a double bed and another with two single beds. The cabins are designed with comfort and convenience, with additional amenities such as a washing machine with a dryer, an iron, and a terrace with outdoor furniture and a grill.
Your stay includes a boat with a small outboard motor—perfect for exploring the fjord when you please. Basic fishing lines are also provided, allowing you to try your hand at catching your own dinner. The cabins are owned and managed by Sue and Anders Fretheim, local organic sheep/cattle farmers who have been in the rental business for over 25 years, to provide a genuinely satisfying and happy stay for their guests.
