Historic bed and breakfast with spacious rooms, a garden, hearty breakfasts, and a central location in Bayeux

Overview

Le Petit Matin is a bed and breakfast located on the historic Place Charles de Gaulle. This square, adorned with 150 lime trees and classified as a Natural Monument, is in the center of Bayeux and offers you proximity to significant sites in the city. Some notable spots include the Cathedral of Notre-Dame de Bayeux, the Bayeux Tapestry Museum, and the Battle of Normandy Museum, all within about 10 minutes of walking.

Formerly the site of the old Bayeux porcelain factory, this late 17th- and 18th-century building has been thoughtfully renovated, holding onto its authenticity and character while providing modern accommodation. Each of the five guest rooms at Le Petit Matin is well-decorated and personalized, filled with authentic antique family furniture procured from local bargains or Bayeux's auction house. This attention to detail creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, where you'll find comfort in the blend of historic charm and modern convenience. Spacious rooms with a private bathroom offer views of either Place Charles de Gaulle or the garden. The room options range from the intimate Violet de Bayeux Room on the ground floor to the more spacious Rose Bonbon or Gris Souris Rooms.

Start each morning with a hearty breakfast served in one of two dining rooms, each exuding its own charm with solid wood cabinets, Venetian chandeliers, and furniture that blends classic and Louis XV styles. Don't miss the homemade croissants—past Kimkim travelers have praised them as some of the world's greatest. For a leisurely time, enjoy a stroll around the property's lovely garden.
