The food was incredible and the owners so accommodating and friendly.

The whisky and Artisan Food Tasting was one of the highlights of the trip. Joanne, a sommelier, was extremely knowledgeable about whisky, food pairings and the history of Edinburgh. We highly highly recommend this tour with her.

The staff was delightful. The room was very large and accomodating.

Bluebell House and its owner / host well standout gems of our trip. The House is beautifully maintained on a mostly quiet residential area, but only a few blocks from a grocery store and restaurants and shopping. The owner / host... Kenny is one of those exceptional people, whose charm and warmth transform what is otherwise a really nice B&B, to an exceptional one.

A truly exceptional place just a few minutes outside of Portree. Gorgeous common building with a restaurant, bar, and comfy sitting areas. There is also a sauna available which we didn't use - as we had to have bathing suits and flip flops to use it. What made this hotel really interesting... in a way it fit the definition of "glamping" as guests stay in their own cabins / huts... some with a short walk to the main building, and others with a pretty challenging walk uphill (fine on a nice day, challenging in the rain or hail... which are not uncommon on Skye. The cabins were comfy and nicely appointed. It would have been nicer if they had more storage for putting clothes away - which as we stayed there for 5 nights we were hoping to do. Breakfast was included and was ample and delicious... there is a menu and you can choose between a traditional Scottish breakfast all the way to vegetarian options. The restaurant was also open for dinner, and again... a nice selection each night. I was disappointed in the bar... this was my first opportunity where I wasn't driving... to try out different single malts from different regions. I am not sure if they didn't offer whisky flights or if the bartender was just too busy to accommodate me, but it was disappointing.

The Lochiel Villa is relatively new, the rooms are nicely appointed, but the breakfast room / common room is no longer in use, giving the guest house almost a creepy / empty feel (and we were not the only guests). As it turned out, the included full breakfast is provided by a sister hotel, just perhaps 50 yards away. As Fort William is where we picked up our car, a nice feature of this hotel, free parking in front (very simple to get to), and the Lochiel is a 10 minute walk back into town.

A very nice hotel in a nice part of Glasgow... To be fair, our rating may be 4/5 instead of 5/5 as we had a travel delay and arrived almost a day late. Anyway, a nice small boutique hotel, very nice room and breakfast room. The front desk staff was super friendly and helpful.

Great location, comfortable and well appointed room. A much appreciated bonus for us... the lower level was recently renovated to include a full kitchen (with breakfast and snack items, coffee, tea, Nespresso, etc.), a dining room / living room combo (with an honor system whisky bar), and an outside seating area and garden.

Charming hotel and great location. No AC or lift is the ONLY reason for less than 5 star rating.

The only reason not rated a five star is the lack of AC. Perfect for cool / moderate weather. Outstanding location -- literally across the drive from the cathedral!!

We were only here a very short time but it was close to the park, which was nice.

This hotel feels a little more like a hostel and we were a little worried when we first checked in. The first room they put my son and I in there wasn't even room to walk with the suitcases. They did move us to a slightly bigger room and we were comfortable enough. My mom had a room at the end of a hall that was much bigger. In short, the rooms are very basic. All that being said, I get why we stayed there. The location was walkable from the train station and it was situated near many good restaurants and places of interest. The staff was VERY helpful, kind, and accommodating. Overall it was a good experience once we learned more about Inverness being the main jumping off point to the Highlands with lots of tourists. I saw nicer places but they were far from all of the action. We had no car so this was a pretty good option.

This hotel was so cute and comfy!

The best part about this hotel is its location. We were able to walk to many restaurants and nearby sights. Overall I'm glad we stayed here. Maybe there are other nicer hotels in Cardiff but I didn't see anything that looked better.

We loved this hotel. Everyone was very friendly and the decor was so cute! It was walkable to the town and had spectacular views. The fish and chips were hands down the best we had during the entire 2 weeks in the UK. The breakfast was also probably the best one we had. The only reason I'm not giving 4 stars is that we had to wait for our room for a couple of hours even though we arrived at the correct time for checking in.

This was our last day so we were a little tired. I think that if you are very interested in Scottish history and the battles, that Culloden would be a very important tour. I liked the mysterious Clava Cairns the best, though it was a very short part of our tour. I was happy to see Loch Ness, but we only experienced it as a drive by on the road and we only saw the Urquart castle from the distance. I felt a little misled as the title of the tour implied that the castle was very important but a decision was made to go to Cawdor Castle instead. It ended up being very interesting and had spectacular gardens that we enjoyed very much.

Jack was a terrific tour guide showing us around Old Town Edinburgh and bringing us to the castle. He had a great understanding of the history of the area and shared so much of it with us.

We loved Amanda and had a fun but short tour with her! After driving all day from Cardiff to Conwy, we appreciated that Amanda was very flexible with us needing to start the tour a little late. She was incredibly accommodating and kind and a really delightful person to spend time with. We enjoyed our tour and learning about the cute town of Conwy. She really brought the history to life with her amazing storytelling!

Absolutely amazing day with Niall! This was definitely the highlight of our trip to the Highlands mainly because of Niall's knowledge, enthusiasm, and kindness! He made it a very special and memorable day for us all. He made lots of extra arrangements so that my elderly mother could enjoy this experience, as well. The gardens of Balmoral were so breathtaking. We have to chuckle a little bit that with a basic entrance ticket you really don't get to see much of the castle, just a display room. The special part of the visit is to see the awesome gardens. We enjoyed a nice lunch in the cute town of Ballater and made some stops at special places of interest on the way back. Niall is a true Highlands Man and he has so much to share about his family and the history of the area. We thoroughly enjoyed talking with him and learning from him!

Our guide, Emery was amazing! This tour was a lot of fun and the food and drink was delicious! I loved all of the little quaint restaurants she took us to. My son and I really enjoyed it!

Our driver was very nice but this was a little bit less of a personable tour than others. It was cool to see the Kelpies and we enjoyed the tour of Stirling castle by one of the guides there. I was expecting to actually see Loch Lomond but only saw a tiny beach and a small dock that we weren't allowed to enter, so I wouldn' t say by any stretch that this is a tour of Loch Lomond. It was just a quick stopover for a snack, I guess.

Phil was an excellent tour guide and fun to talk to. We covered a lot of ground in one day and saw some incredibly beautiful sights. He was also very flexible and kind and made a couple stops when needed.

We really enjoyed our day with Rikki and he took us to some really beautiful places. We especially loved the walk out toward the ocean beside the cliffs at Rhosili. The lunch spot he took us to was excellent and we enjoyed traveling on many of the backroads of the Gower Peninsula and seeing historic homes and gorgeous flowers and landscapes.

Gareth was a terrific guide and fun to talk to. He was so patient and answered all of our questions. We loved walking along the River Wye and exploring the cute towns. The Abbey and the castle were very interesting. My son got the best haircut of his life across from Caerphilly Castle thanks to Gareth's suggestion!

Great restaurant onsite. Room was nice, bathrooms very small. Most of the staff were wonderful, friendly, and helpful. Our check-in experience was not very welcoming. The person checking us in seemed surprised we were there, as if we were a bother to her. It was not what we expected !

Very charming with wonderful staff, but too far away from town. Good breakfast but you really must have espresso options! The bartender made the best old fashions we had on the whole trip (and we had a lot!)

So many stairs and staircases that lead to different areas. Not easy to navigate. Some staff were very good, but most were reactive and not proactive, there was little anticipatory service. No one told us they had a lounge we could use while waiting for our room to be ready, we found it later on our own. And that there was a bar on the second floor with comfortable seating. We stayed here twice and the rooms were very different. Didn’t love the first one, it had a strange configuration, but the second one was spectacular. Beds weee very comfortable and large.
