Nuquí is 40 miles (64 km) away from Bahía Solano. However, there are limited ways to get around this area. Nuquí is located on Colombia's Pacific coast and the only transport method to travel between the two fishing villages is by boat. There are no roads that connect them due to lack of infrastructure in this remote area.

This 5-day itinerary has all the transportation arranged on your behalf. It includes a visit to Medellín, along with the remote El Chocó region on Colombia's Pacific coast, including Nuquí. Highlights include a visit to the lush rainforest found in Utría National Park. The park is famous for its protecting the diverse marine life found in the area, including humpback whales and sea turtles.

By Boat

Duration: 2 hours or more

Boats like Transporte Yiliana have services between the two cities of Bahía Solano/El Valle and Nuquía a few times a week, usually on Monday and Friday so plan accordingly. Depending on the tide, the boat leaves very early in the morning and this route takes over two hours, depending on the number of stops and the type of boat. Your local specialist or accommodation can help arrange a booking on one of these boats.
