Travelers looking to get from Casablanca to Rabat can make the 54-mile (87 km) journey by private transfer or by train. Either option will make take about an hour. The drive up the Atlantic coast to Rabat is filled with beaches and coastal getaways that are worth exploring along the way. The small city of Mohammedia has three acclaimed beaches nearby and even a few upscale resorts if you're looking to indulge in a spa treatment. The coastal city of Temara is especially popular with residents of Rabat, some of whom own lovely vacation villas along the water. You can settle in for a meal and watch the ships come in at the popular Port of Temara or head to nearby El Harhoura beach, which is near a lush forest with walking trails.

There is also a local train from either Casablanca City Center or Casa Port. Trains depart for Rabat about once every 30 minutes, and any booking will take you directly to the city in about an hour. Travelers will want to book a first-class ticket for advanced seat selection and slightly more room in their coach.
