Getting Around Morocco

Morocco offers travelers a diversity of regions and landscapes best explored with a private driver and guide. While train and bus options exist between larger cities, the desert, Atlas Mountains, and coast are not well-connected. Most travelers arrive either in Casablanca (CMN) or Marrakech (RAK), while some arrive via ferry to Tangier or by flight into Fes (FEZ).

Private drivers are relatively affordable in Morocco, while still offering travelers flexibility for how long to stay at various stops and detours. Vehicles are comfortable and air-conditioned, and drivers speak English.

For shorter excursions or day trips, taxis are also available, such as from Marrakech to Essaouira. Keep in mind that English isn't widely spoken by taxi drivers in certain locations (French and sometimes Spanish are common).
