Dhampus is about 15 miles (25 km) from Pokhara, and is both a day-hike destination and a stop on longer treks in the Annapurna Himalaya (such as the Ghandruk Trek). It's easy to get to from Pokhara by combining road travel with trekking.

Private Transfer and on Foot

Duration: 3+ hours

From Pokhara, take a private vehicle west along the Pokhara-Baglung Rajmarg Road to Phedi. This takes about half an hour, along a well-developed road that's frequented by many trekkers heading into the Annapurna Himalaya. Continue to Dhampus on foot, on a moderately steep trail that passes through forest. It should take 2-3 hours of walking.

Alternatively, drive a bit further along the same road to Kande, and trek to Dhampus from there. It's also technically possible to take public buses along this road, though these aren't very safe, and are usually over-crowded.
