I appreciate the pivoting you did in response to the weather and your availability and communications. This was our first Kimkim trip and I recommend then without reservation.

Best experiences include Ina, an exceptional guide in Split. I so appreciate guides that can share an understanding of history and current social and political topics that impact the location. She was insightful and articulate. Keep her busy! Also a best was the wine guide Grgl Natkovic. Since we are from California wine region, we were interested in the industry in Croatia. While the local winery we first visited I would not recommend as part of future tours (good ambiance but mediocre wine), the wine we sampled at his family village was outstanding. His enthusiasm regarding H'var and the commentary he provided travelling from H'var city to Stari Grad was great. Here is a young entrepreneur to watch. Positive experiences with Marco for the walking tour of H'var. This walking tour and Marco's knowledge of the local plants was great. The walk through the countryside and "abandoned" villages was excellent. I would suggest an option to visit the interior of one of these houses to see what life in the village would be like. Also, Evo in Dubrovnik, is a guy who can pilot a boat like no body I know.

The accommodation selections were excellent. The drop off in Split could have been closer to the accommodation. The location of the accommodation in Split, H'var and Dubrovnik was convienient and well located.

These "abandoned" villages were wonderful as was the walk through the countryside. The native plants we plant as ornamentals in California. The rock walls were astounding and worth the walk.

We went to Croatia for a 2 week family trip - we met our daughter there who had been travelling in Europe for 3 months. Robi was our travel specialist who helped us plan our trip. We had a few ideas about what we wanted to see and do, but he truly helped shape our trip to be very memorable. He was very patient with us as we changed our minds a few times as to what we wanted to see, and the length of time we wanted to spend in each location. We rented a car in Zagreb (which was brought to us!) and made our way to Plitvice Lakes, Kra National Park , and finally to Split. Robi suggested a number of towns along the way that we could stop and see, and provided some great backstory to those locations. We left our car in Split then took a catamaran to spend a few days on Hvar and Korcula. We had a private driver pick us up in Korcula and drive us through the Peljesac wine region where we visited a couple locally owned wineries, visited Ston and ended in Dubrovnik, where we spent 4 days. All our accomodations were extremely central, provided breakfast and were very pleasant. The KimKim approach is to provide the specific location details and additional info about restaurants the night before you reach your new destination. I was apprehensive about this approach but it worked really well! Robi was in contact with us every day of our trip and available to help if we needed. Croatia is a beautiful country with an incredibly interesting history, great food and people. We will go back - thank you Robi for making our first time visit to your beautiful country so memorable.

Very clean - the staff went out of their way to accomodate us. They even walked me to the closest place so we could get our laundry done. The next day we had a cooking class booked, so one of the staff offered to get our laundry for us! the Breakfast was very good - you could order a fresh made omelet if you liked. Great location - we could walk everywhere from Hotel Marul.

we spent one night here on our way to plitvice lakes park. Once we got here i wanted to stay for a few more days!! The accomodations were very clean, comfortable rooms. I loved the pool! We borrowed the bicycles and did a small tour around the area (they have numerous bike paths) and then enjoyed the afternoon at the pool. We had dinner at the neighbouring hotel that evening which was very good and we had a good selection for breakfast the next day. The location to the parks is fantastic - it only took us 15 minutes to drive to the park entrance from here.

Leaving Zagreb -Rastoke visit- Plitvice lakes overnight

this was our travel day to get to the Plitvice Lakes area Robi suggested we stop in Rastoke. We didn't know much about the town and just thought it would be a quick stop. The town area is extremely enchanting - it was our first introduction to the beauty of the Croatian waterfalls. We ended up staying for much longer that anticipated because it was such a fascinating area.

This is the most beautiful national park I have yet to see. We are from Canada, near the Banff National Park which I consider to be extremely beautiful - now it has a rival! This area is so well taken care of - the water is pristine and the boardwalks protect the area. We absolutely loved this park

Hard to imagine a more welcoming, flexible, passionate and knowledgable guide. We started planning for the trip, paid our deposit then COVID hit. Robi politely stayed in touch the whole time to make sure we felt welcome to continue our trip when we felt comfortable traveling. He assured us we would get full credit for our deposit, whenever we traveled. We finally were able to travel this fall(nearly 3 years later!) and could not have been happier. Robi is a wonderful ambassador for his country and its history. There was not a place we went where he didn't have a story, an insight and often a family member! He adapted to us slowing down and speeding up. We had originally planned to be active(bike, hike, kayak, etc.) but settled into a little less active but still very stimulating agenda. Great local food became a bigger part of the schedule, including a private lunch at a family home as well as a peka (under the dome) traditional meal! His cousin Goran, was our captain on the charted sailing catamaran for 5 days. What a great addition to the trip, both the boat and Goran! Highly recommend adding a charter of the coastal islands if at all possible. We avoided the busy tour boats and found some secluded bays and towns. Appreciate Robi having inside knowledge of restaurants, hidden parks, local things to see, etc. This trip is in our top 2-3 because of Robi and Goran and the wonderful places we got to experience and the wonderfully welcoming local people. Please look for Robi and his company, Soul of Croatia. So many wonderful memories. Thanks to KimKim for putting us together!

We worked with Anna-Maria to plan our trip. She was great at going back and forth with us really working out multiple ideas of what would be best for a family with a 5 year old. The trip was perfect for getting to see a diverse set of locations in Croatia and the activities she planned worked great with our kid and us. During the trip we worked with Vesna who helped us find some great restaurants and helped with some last minute switches due to weather and mix-ups on pick-ups. I can't imagine how we would have done so much (6 cities in 11 days)!

Getting away for a bit from the resort area and hiking through an abandoned village was an excellent change of pace. It was a good length and steepness to the walk too, including for our 5 year-old. Day Trip to Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina

The guide on the bus was very informative and made the long drive feel more a part of the tour. The guide in Mostar was passionate, heartfelt, and informative. The waterfall was nice, but we would have preferred to take the time to further explore Mostar. There was not enough time in Mostar. Additionally, the car to pick us up to get us to the bus went poorly - they expected us to wait outside with a small child for an hour, and since we were in the lobby instead, they did not come in and left without us. Vesna (the KimKim coordinator in Croatia) helped us swap for the next day.

Either we should be given a short window to be outside for the initial car (e.g., 10 minutes), or the driver should go into the lobby to check. Expecting a family with a small child to wait outside at 7am for an hour is inappropriate. The rest of the transport for the trip went well.

Family Fun: Cooking Class in Dubrovnik Countryside

We enjoyed the opportunity to get out of the city and see the countryside. The drive went through beautiful terrain, both seaside and in the hills. The class itself was at a farm, where we got to pick fruits and vegetables and contribute to the cooking of our meal. They were excellent at keeping us involved, including with a 5 year-old child. The family was hospitable and engaging. We enjoyed the slower pace. They also had rakija to sample, and homemade textiles. We loved the more intimate and local feel. And, the foods were delicious!

We had an incredible family vacation for 11 days in Croatia. Bruno was fantastic: so helpful and knowledgeable about what my children (9 and 10 years old) would enjoy. He arranged everything for us and we were thrilled: local guides, family-run restaurants and the most gorgeous scenery. We spent time in Dubrovnik, Korcula and Split, with a day trip to Krka National Park.

We were welcomed at all our transfers, which made arrivals worry-free and let us get right to the fun parts. The accommodations recommended by Bruno were excellent, and the kids enjoyed the city tours with our wonderful, engaging guides Marijana and Victoria. (Great orientation to the history and culture of Croatia without the kids getting bored reading the guidebook!)

Unforgettable experiences arranged by Bruno included a day with super-friendly, Croatia expert Robi on his boat, with gorgeous views of Dubrovnik city walls and swimming at the blue cave that the kids LOVED; fresh oysters caught for us with wine provided by a local fisherman and the most excellent lunch (thanks to our wonderful guide Goran); wine tasting at a family vineyard; and the trip to Krka National Park, where we enjoyed lunch with a waterfall at our feet. Jure was an excellent guide for that day. He took the time to stop at look-outs along the way, and the kids enjoyed that tour a lot.

The food was excellent. My husband and I love seafood, but my son is allergic. Everyone was very kind about ensuring his food was cooked separately, or he had a special order. We were grateful.

We especially liked the Lacroma Hotel in Dubrovnik, where we could hear live music every night from our balcony.

We hope to be back one day, and for now have lots of great memories of our first family vacation in Europe.

Robert ("Robi") is an incredible host in Croatia. He is flexible, super friendly and knowledgeable about all things Croatia (history, food, wineries -- everything!). He is the first guide I have had in a long time that took time to LISTEN to what we wanted and adjusted the tour based on our needs. He took us on several hikes and bike trips that were well thought out, off the beaten path and very "local".

Robi was always on time, well organized and always had a smile on his face. He owns the tour company and it shows - he has new equipment and he is incredibly proud of his organization. I would give 10 stars if I could. One of the best trips we have ever taken.

We had a wonderful trip in Croatia! During the design process Sarah was responsive and accommodating, helping us choose options for activities and destinations within the country. We considered various day trips (for example, two Bosnia and Montenegro) that we ended up not taking, but Sarah had helped us with the research on those. We ended up booking most of our lodging, but Sarah had presented us with plenty of options on that front as well. The vendors she chose were terrific, particularly Mario’s sea kayaking and Grigo, Winko, and the group that took us on our bicycle trip on Hvar. The lunch of bread, cheese, charcuterie, and Croatian wine in a 19 century cellar was a true highlight of the trip. We had one glitch during the trip: a boating vendor that Sarah had hired mischeduled our family‘s reserved day. This was entirely the vendor’s mistake. Yet, Sarah was responsive immediately trying to work through things, and, when that became impossible, she refunded us that portion of the trip and treated our family to a lovely, delicious meal at a traditional Croatian konoba. As to logistics, it was terrific to have ferry schedules and tickets available for us and PDFs and all drivers accounted for at all times. Sarah was available at all times by WhatsApp, usually within seconds. Bottom line, it was exemplary customer service and our entire family is greatly appreciative!

This was terrific. One of the highlights of the trip, if not the highlight. The biking through warm hillsides and scenic medieval coastal towns and forested Bayside paths was idyllic. We were picked up in Hvar town by Grigo, who told us a great deal about the history of Hvar and adventurous he and his family had taken. Winko met our family on the tour. He, too, was knowledgeable and informative. Then, we had a fantastic meal in the cellar - there was delicious cheese, charcuterie, and bread. Somehow we managed to leave without a couple bottles of wine!

Boating Excursion Around Korčula's Archipelago

Well, if we have to give this a star, we can only give it one star… Because it never happened. This is because Fish and Fun, the boat run by captain Mario, did not have us scheduled on the correct day. Although Sarah did all she could to persuade him to accommodate us, it did not work out so we made other plans. Sarah did refund us the entire portion for this part of the excursion, and gave us a wonderful meal in Dubrovnik as compensation. So, for this portion of the trip, we give KimKim 5 stars, and Mario none. We also found another boat to take us to surrounding islands, so we were able to salvage part of the afternoon, albeit not on Fish and Fun.

We had an amazing trip to Croatia. Nikola was wonderful to work with. He was so helpful and informative when we were planning the trip. We made multiple changes, added people at the last minute and everything went so smoothly. Once we arrived in Croatia Nikola was even more helpful, he helped us tweak some plans and when my friend left her computer on a catamaran he made sure she not only got it back but had it delivered to the hotel so we didn't miss our afternoon activity. Exceeded my expectations! The trip to Croatia was one of the best trips of our lives!

Sarah was incredible to work with throughout our planning stages and then she and Ivan were super communicative during our actual trip. Not once did we have to worry about any logistics, everything was handled seamlessly. We were able to just fully immerse ourselves in the experience and make memories. Honestly, this was the best way to holiday! When we first researched Croatia we had no idea where to start! There are so many possibilities, things to do and ways to get to all the islands that I felt overwhelmed! I stumbled across KimKim and our local specialist Robi was assigned to us. I told him our budget, our needs, the time we had available etc. From there he sent through a first draft itenarary and communicated thoroughly all the options available to us. We spent a few weeks going back and forth and tweaking , changing and adding to our itenarary. He paid careful attention to our needs for our family and made wonderful suggestions that we wouldn't know about reading blogs online. Accommodation was carefully considered. He knows each and every place he recommends personally! Robi has a very deep love for his country, is extremely knowledgeable and helped us with anything we needed. No task was too big or too small for him. He went above and beyond! Communicated thoroughly our plan for every day the night before. Booked tours, ferries , taxis , transport shuttles and boat trips for us to make life easier. Recommended restaurants, beaches and things to do. Took us on boat trips and tours where we ate with locals and got a deeper understanding for the history of this country. The holiday was so relaxing because everything was taken off of our hands and done for us. We left Croatia with a happy heart and made a new friend along the way. Daniela and Robi planned and executed our amazing trip to Croatia. We visited Split, Hvar and Dubrovnik. Robi gave us a personal tour of Ston and several wineries in the Pelješac peninsula. The hotels they booked were spectacular. Every detail was planned and executed to perfection from the catamaran transfers to the excellent restaurants they recommended and booked. We were in great hands! Thank you Robi and Daniela!

Our entire trip to Croatia was amazing! Anna-Maria planned everything so well. She is clearly an expert when it comes to planning the perfect Croatian vacation. To start, our hotels were fantastic. Each one was very conveniently located mere minutes to the center of everything and included a truly remarkable breakfast each morning. The rooms themselves were quite small in two of the three hotels, but we spent very little time in the rooms, so it hardly mattered. The hotel staffs were incredibly helpful in terms of answering questions, holding bags for us, having rooms ready early, and making dinner reservations. We could not have asked for more! (Note: We stayed at Hotel Fermai in Split, Riva Marina in Hvar, and the Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik. The latter two were particularly impressive. I wish we could have had one more night in Dubrovnik, especially.)

Aside from hotels, Anna-Maria planned our schedule impeccably. The private drivers to/from airports-ferries-hotels were uniformly impressive. They clearly took pride in their cities, shared interesting information about the sights along the way, and were alway on time, even early. On a day-to-day basis, there was a good mixture of staying in the cities and day trips to nearby attractions. I particularly enjoyed the day trip to Trogir/Krka/Skradin from Split (our tour guide, Elena, was great), the boat trip to Blue Cave/Pakleni Islands from Hvar, the island tour of Hvar that included photo ops, lavender fields, and olive oil tasting (Tea was lovely), and the early evening walking tour of Dubrovnik (Alberto was also lovely). In general, most of the tour guides were by far the best I have ever encountered.

Additionally, Anna-Maria was wonderful to work with. When my sister and I felt like the original schedule was a bit frenetic, we decided to add two more days. Anna-Maria was very helpful in determining where to add extra nights and was open to our request to add in a bit more "free time," when we could just explore the cities on our own. She also offered suggestions of what to do or see during this free time. Likewise, when we had a few questions during the trip, Anna-Maria was easily accessible via WhatsApp. I cannot recommend her services highly enough! Thank you, Anna-Maria! Honestly, I wish I could back to Croatia tomorrow and add in a few days to Korcula, which I hear is amazing. :)

Riva Marina Hvar Hotel

One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in! We were originally going going to stay at the Beach Bay Hvar, but I'm so happy our plans changed. I think this hotel was a much better fit for my family. The rooms were small, but if you're doing Hvar correctly, you're not spending much time in the rooms. I loved the included breakfast each morning, and I loved the bar space in the evening. The location cannot be beat. We were literally five steps from the ferry when we arrived on the island; however, the hotel does a nice job of keeping the lobby space quiet, serene, and private. While this hotel does not have a pool, its sister hotel (Adriana Spa) does and is a very short walk away. It was super easy to walk into that hotel, show our hotel key, and take the elevator up to the spa and/or rooftop pool for a relaxing break from sightseeing. Overall, I would recommend Riva Marina Hvar hotel based on location and sea view alone. Everything else was the cherry on top! (Side note: Hvar was my favorite stop on my trip, and I wish I was still there now.)

One of the loveliest hotels I have ever stayed in. I really wish I could have stayed one more day. It felt incredibly luxurious, our room was very large by European standards, the breakfast each day was incredible, and overall, I felt lucky to be there. I also think the location was PERFECT. It's right outside the walls of the city, which I think is ideal. If you can afford it, I'd recommend this hotel again and again.

Afternoon Split food tour

Doris was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I am only taking off one star because some members of our group were slightly picky eaters and felt awkward when they did not want to try things like squid ink pasta or sardines. We loved the prosciutto, cheese, truffle pasta, bread, gelato, and of course, the wine. We also felt like we actually learned a lot about the city of Split in addition to its cuisine.

So happy to see other parts of the island outside of Hvar Town. Our guide, Tea, was simply lovely. She was friendly, kind, answered all of our questions, drove expertly up very scary mountain roads, and took a great deal of pride in her island. I would recommend Tea as an island tour guide to anyone. Also, I do not remember the name of the gentleman who was our guide for the olive oil tasting, but he was great, too!

Blue and Green Caves: Full-Day Speedboat Tour from Hvar

We saw some truly amazing sights. Highlights were the Blue Cave, Palmizana, and Stiniva Cove. I am only taking off one star because the trip was actually quite long--maybe longer than eight hours. We were very tired of swimming and sun by the time we got back to the hotel. The captain/guide were very friendly, but this trip might be more suited to groups of friends in the 20s or 30s than families or older travelers.

Each of the three islands was beautiful. Lunch was tasty, though if you order the fish, please know you will receive an entire large fish. A very large boat with a large group, so less personal than some of the other day trips/boat trips/tours we experienced on our trip. But if you prefer a more anonymous tour, this is probably for you.
