With all of the drivers and guides and passes/tickets involved in the trip it was amazing that everything worked exactly as planned. The Kim Kim app with the itinerary, contact names and phone, tickets etc along with the chat feature was tremendously useful. The hotels were great, the drivers were prompt and courteous, the guides were knowledgeable and very easy/flexible to work with. I can’t say enough good things — probably the best trip that we’ve ever taken and Kim Kim was a key contributor. Will definitely use them in the future.

These tours gave us new insights into Greece that we would never have gotten on our own. Our stay in Corfu was just as wonderful. Even though we had to cancel 2 tours due to weather, which was remarkably easy and with a quick refund. The hotel we stayed in in was run by a wonderful family that provided us with anything we needed. Even getting us a rental car delivered to the hotel so we could explore the island. We really had a great time. This was the first vacation we have done were everything was set up by an agency. I will definitely use KimKim again.

Lana’s birthday trip to Greece was an unqualified success. You will recall that she alone coordinated with you for a variety of excursions and experiences. After the first draft was developed, she asked me for my thoughts; I do not recall suggesting any changes.
After arriving in Athens on Day 01, we rested briefly in the hotel and took pictures of the view out the window. It took us a day to confirm that we were seeing the Acropolis – but not the Parthenon because a building rose to perfectly block its view. That was rectified by going to the hotel rooftop at sunset on Day 02.
Our first excursion was with Katrine as our guide for a neighborhood food tour. While I am not a chef, and do not enjoy cooking, the details Katrine provided at each of the stops along the tour were quite informative. It was simply a superb start to our visit to Greece. If our tour ended with that tour, the trip to Greece would have been a clear success. Wonderful.
Our Day 02 with Michael was exemplary. While I had no particular interest in Greek mythology, he made the morning quite educational. It was only after another mythology tour on Mykonos with a delightful Elizabeth that I learned mythology provides a guidepost for navigating life, death, and a host of other challenges in life.
Day 03 began with different Elizabeth picking us up at the hotel in a snazzy Mercedes to begin a thoroughly enjoyable day at Hyra – and no cruise ships. When the church that she wanted us to visit was closed, we had a wonderful discussion on the ability to improvise without needing to be annoyed at the circumstance. Our engagement with the mules was fun – strangely, they did not appear to be stubborn! Our horse ride began on a low note - I was tethered to Lana’s horse whose bridle was being led by the guide – while two young Irish lasses were free to handle the reins of their beasts. On the return leg I was allowed full control and my ride was a perfect success – I even motioned the guide away when he attempted to regain control because the horse was nibbling at leaves on an overhanging tree. At the end of that day, I wished that Elizabeth could be our guide again – anywhere; she was incredibly engaging.
Day 04 at Mykonos was fun – the taxi driver humorously warned us that we would get lost in town. I’d not say we got lost, but the way back to the hotel was not perfectly direct. As we approached the hotel from our initial wandering, we stopped and watched the rehearsal of a community dance group in an amphitheater across from the hotel.
The start of Day 05 was an absolute success with Dimitri leading us on a hike from the family vineyard to the coast and back. It was more than exercise – it was pure entertainment and full of informative details about life outside town, careers, family, churches, religion, etc.
The second part of Day 05 was a bit of disappointment. The guide, Sylvia, made sure that we were photographed at all her favorite locations. That is not our style, but we accommodated her. Except for the windmills, we had already walked to the stops she led us too. Unlike the engaging, educational food tour by Katrine in Athens, Sylvia’s food tour was ultimately underwhelming. In fact, the meal that we had was the second worst of my life – and to be honest, I do not recall my worst meal. I nibbled at the gyros to be polite. At the conclusion of her tour, Sylvia insisted on guiding us to a pathway leading straight back to our hotel, before going in the direction of her car. When she was out of sight, we turned around and went back into town to wander. While hydrating back at our hotel, we spoke at length with another, engaging guest and then walked crossed the roadway to the amphitheater for the production version of the community dance group. While there were no subtitles (!) or translations available, it was enthralling!
Day 06 was fundamentally a rest day since Lana was not particularly enthused about a hike up Mt. Zeus. I was more than enthused, but that was not relevant, I’ll hike for three weeks come August.
The Day 07 bike tour on Naxos began with a hiccup. We generally are at meeting points ten minutes early and are present when the driver or guide arrives. That was not the case this day, so Lana coordinated with the hotel clerk to arrange a very short ride to the bike shop where we met Manos. We quickly made up for lost time and were soon on e-bikes headed for the hills. What an absolute gem of an excursion. The experience matched that of the Athens food tour with Katrina and Elizabeth’s tour of Hydra in terms of quality, content, and immersion into Greek culture. Time at the goat farm was simply priceless. Fabulous beyond words. The evening mythology tour, while somewhat repetitive, proved to be very enjoyable. I don’t recall ever listening to English being spoken with a foreign accent with such perfect enunciation and pronunciation -- and with captivating inflection. Elizabeth packaged an interesting evening and graciously melded the expertise of a very knowledgeable young member of our group.
Day 08 proved to be long and tiring. On the ferry dock we enjoyed conversing with our driver who also had driven us to the hotel on our first day at Naxos. While standing in the queue we had a good time with several fellow travelers. Since we had a reasonably late breakfast at the hotel, we were not hungry at (U.S.) lunchtime so we ate light snacks on the ferry. Another Dimitri met us at the hotel, and he was as energetic as any guide could be. Picking up on his energy, we told him that the performance bar had been set high by our previous guides. To give him full credit, he tried; but at a key point in the tour, he had to leave us to enter Akrotiri alone because he was not allowed to guide its tour. After he dropped us at the gate to Akrotiri, we had to navigate the site independently – no pamphlet was provided. I admit I did not research the site as I most certainly should have. Since we entered the site without a clue about its basics, I found a QR code that linked to an English website still in development. I also found a PDF I could download, but that was impractical on the iPhone. Halfway through the site I found audio snippets via QR, but the associated diagrams were tough to interpret and many of the objects discussed were not onsite – they were in museums. The breadth of the excavation was stunning – and I learned later that night that it might take another 100 years to finish excavation. After rejoining Dimitri outside Akrotiri, he gave us two options: visit another castle or nearby Red Beach. We chose the latter in hopes that it would bring the day to an early end. It did not and the lack of a lunch break began to take a toll on our energy and moods. After leaving the interesting beach he drove us slowly to another photo-op site and then slowly back to the hotel as if to end the tour closer to the contracted time. One last point about the tour – it was in a rattletrap vehicle that left me unable to understand much of Dimitri’s constant stream of data and eventually led me to tune him out. OK, to be fair to him, I wear hearing aids to restore consonants that over wise would be lost in the ethers. If the consonants were in fact restored during the ride, they were overwritten by the rattling. Lana and I ended the day with a short walk to a restaurant that tested my resolve to keep the hearing aids powered on. We did not get a seat with a wonderful view of the caldera, instead we were ushered to a table set partway into a serving isle. I asked to be moved inside where I then discovered I could not hear Lana over the din created by waiters, bar tenders, music, and acoustics. We asked to be moved again – and were offered a street side, outdoor seat on a very chilly night. All of that movement was of our making, and I apologized to the manager for being so picky at which point he entertained us with stories of really picky customers – a group in which he said we did not fit! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and his gracious hospitality.
The single scheduled event on Day 09 is always one of Lana’s favorite events – a regional cooking class. The class was perfectly enjoyable; great hands-on participation. Oddly, the lunch and wine tasting afterwards was ostensibly redundant – the food was the same, but double in portion size -- and the wine was similar in the pairing. The only noticeable difference between the two sessions was the dessert. Regardless of the redundancy, the meals had exceptional Greek flavors.
The weather reports for Day 10 promised an overcast day with chilly temperatures matched by high winds which led me to research the possibility of cancellation – not a chance. We spent part of the morning stepping down the 588 steps leading to dockside. There I purchased a trophy (Greek) hat on the assumption that we would successfully ascend the staircase. We did so without the aid of mules and celebrated with ice cream cones. Following quick rehydration, we walked quickly north so we could walk out to the Rock. And then we stuffed warm clothes into a backpack and were driven to the port for our catamaran sunset cruise. The weather was not as forecast – we only needed sweaters. It was as glorious as every other day in Greece – a perfect conclusion to our very, very successful visits to Athens, Hydra, Mykonos, Naxos and Santorini.
Thank you, Sydney, for helping make Lana’s birthday travel a marvelous success.

Where do I begin? From the very start of the planning process to the ten wonderful days we spent in Greece, Sydney was incredible. She took the information we shared about what we wanted to see and do and turned it into a spectacular vacation. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged, making it easy for us to enjoy each day—whether we were meeting a guide or wandering through the towns on our own.

What stood out most was how personalized everything felt. Sydney truly listened to what we wanted and created an itinerary that perfectly matched our interests. From the activities to the pacing of the trip, it was clear that every choice had been made with care.

Each day unfolded seamlessly, with the perfect balance of guided experiences and free time to explore independently. We never felt rushed, yet we were able to see and do so much. Sydney’s organization and attention to detail made the trip completely stress-free, allowing us to simply enjoy every moment.

We began with a fabulous Evening Neighborhood Food Walk with Katerina of Greek Travel Tellers. This was our introduction to Athens and to Greece, and Katerina warmly welcomed us to her city. We sampled food and drinks from five different establishments while learning about the history, culture, and everyday life of Athens. It was the perfect way to begin our trip and immediately made us feel connected to the city.

Another standout experience was our day on Hydra with our guide, Elizabeth of Alternative Athens. Her knowledge of the island, combined with her warm personality and easygoing demeanor, made it feel as though we were wandering the town with an old friend. By the end of our time together, we wished we could meet her again the next morning for coffee.

We also thoroughly enjoyed our hike with Dimitrius of Yummy Pedals on the island of Mykonos. We walked along donkey trails and countryside footpaths, stopping at a small church in the middle of a field. Dimitrius explained that these churches, scattered outside of town, are family churches used for special celebrations and occasions. We continued to a peaceful beach, where we cooled our feet in the water while enjoying homemade lemonade and a local pastry specialty.

On Naxos, we took a bike ride with Manos of Aurelia e-Assist Bikes through the island’s rural countryside. Along the way, we visited an archaeological site, learned about agricultural traditions, toured a farm producing cheese using traditional methods, and stopped at an olive mill museum to taste local olive oils and olives. Afterwards, we enjoyed a light farm-to-table lunch featuring cheeses made on the farm, fresh produce, and local wine before returning to Naxos Town.

After a short rest, we joined a group for the Mythology Sunset Walk and Wines of Naxos, led by Elizabeth of Naxos Cultural Tours. Elizabeth described herself as a “mythology junkie,” and by the end of the tour, she had nearly made us mythology enthusiasts as well. She brought stories of gods such as Odysseus and Poseidon to life as we wandered through the streets of Naxos Town, ending in the medieval castle district, once home to the acropolis. We then enjoyed a wine tasting in honor of Dionysus, the god of wine, before concluding at the Portara—the gate of the Temple of Apollo—where we watched a picture-perfect sunset.

Our time on Santorini included a hike down the famous Karavolades Stairs—all 588 of them—which connect the Old Port of Fira to the clifftop town above. We made it down much faster than we made it back up and rewarded ourselves with gelato to celebrate the climb. We also hiked to Skaros Rock, a dramatic promontory on the Aegean side of the island that was once the site of a castle and later served as a gathering place for the Christian community until an earthquake in the 19th century destroyed the structure.

One of my favorite things to do while traveling is take a cooking class, and our class on Santorini did not disappoint. We visited a local winery, where we learned about the indigenous grape varieties that thrive in the volcanic soil and sampled several island wines. Our cooking class was led by Chef Chris of Artemis Karamolegos Winery, who guided us through the hands-on preparation of traditional dishes. I can’t wait to recreate them for friends at home.

Our final outing of the trip was a sunset catamaran cruise. We stopped at Mesa Pigadia and Red Beach for swimming and snorkeling and enjoyed a delicious Greek barbecue while watching a breathtaking sunset. It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable journey.

While we did much more than what I have shared here, these were the activities we enjoyed the most.

Greece was truly unforgettable, and Sydney played a huge role in making it such a special experience. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a beautifully planned and memorable vacation.

I didn't know what to expect when I chose to use Kimkim, but after having used them I would highly recommend it to everyone! From the very beginning of trip planning, our local specialist Ina was a fantastic resource. She helped us shape the EXACT trip we wanted and dreamed of. We had several iterations of our trip, but she was very patient and kept working with us patiently to get the trip we wanted down to the littlest detail. First of all, Ina knew all the best tours and activities in each location. We had an amazing tour of the City of Athens & Acropolis, followed by a tour following Paul's footsteps to Corinth, and then in Paros we had the BEST boat tour (glaraki cruises), followed by a super fun and memorable cooking class. On top of picking the best activities for us, all of the private transportation was taken care of so there was NO STRESS. I think out of the dozens of transfers we had, only one came past the stated time and it was only late by 5 minutes so it was wonderful that we could count on the transportation to be there on time. Finally, we had a hiccup with a hotel in Paros where there were issues and the hotel was shut down for the days we were supposed to be there and Ina and her team quickly found an alternative hotel that was incredible. Instead of me scrambling to find an alternative, the Kimkim team handled it all smoothly and quickly. So to summarize: a fantastic experience from start to finish which resulted in a fun, romantic, and NO-STRESS trip.

The many steps kept us in shape for our long walk from Fira to Oia. It was a challenge but we would to it again! Santorini Sea Kayak provided us with a wonderful and entertaining day of paddling and spectacular views along the coast. Adonis and Nolan were the best guides ever! We were also treated to a homemade lunch.

Naxos was a treasure and a sweet change of pace. Although the winds were gusty and it was a bit chilly we stilled loved the island. One of our favorite tours was with Natural Cultural Tours. Our guide Christos was over the top fun, knowledgeable, and entertaining. Sadly we said goodbye the Greek Islands as we headed back to Athens and our long journey home. Thank you Kim Kim for giving us this opportunity!

I can’t say enough about how incredible our trip to Greece was — and a huge part of that was thanks to Siena and the entire team at KimKim. From start to finish, everything felt seamless, thoughtful, and so well planned.

Even the rainy weather during our Acropolis & Mythology Walk in Athens couldn’t dampen the experience. Our guide, Michael, was hilarious, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. Our Delphi day trip was equally memorable, and the lunch stop on the drive home — arranged by our driver Chris — ended up being one of the highlights of the entire trip.

In Chania, our History & Foodie Tour was absolutely delicious (and VERY filling), and our guide Aria was genuinely lovely. We were also lucky enough to have Nikos as our guide for both the Milia Mountain wine & olive oil tasting and the Balos Lagoon/Falassarna Beach tour — and he was truly exceptional. He had such a warm, welcoming energy that he made both excursions feel relaxed and personal. We also met wonderful people on each of our small group tours, which made the experience even more special.

Eva at the Alcanea Boutique Hotel was beyond kind and accommodating. The suite was beautiful, and the location honestly couldn't have been more perfect.

One thing I especially appreciated was how supported we felt the entire time. Having contacts for every transfer and knowing KimKim was available if anything went wrong made traveling abroad feel easy and stress-free.

I would HIGHLY recommend KimKim to anyone planning a trip. We made memories we’ll never forget — and I know we’ll absolutely use them again in the future.

O.M.G. I asked Siena at KimKim for the best suite she could find for the final night of our engagement trip to Greece and she ABSOLUTELY delivered!! We stayed in a suite with the view of the Acropolis, that also had a balcony and overlooked the bustling city of Athens. Since we were only staying one night, we bought pizza and a bottle of wine and just took in everything right from our amazing room. Couldn't have asked for anything better.

Kimkim made our private trip so easy to navigate. From the pre-trip Zoom with Siena to the app with all details neatly laid out, our experience was one that we highly recommend. We had a great tour of the Acropolis and the Agora on the first full day; our hotel offered a view of the Acropolis beautifully lit at night. The next day we were driven to Corinth where delightful guide, Veira (sp?), enlightened us about the Temple of Apollo. The drive was a bit long and uninteresting along the way but we could easily have skipped the next stop, Napflio, the original capital of Greece, which took us even farther from Athens. Following our independent touring of Athens we were delivered on day 4 to the airport for a short flight to Santorini. Mike of Santorini Roadtrips gave us a fabulous tour of more ruins and some small villages outside of Oía. Our private catamaran sunset sail on the caldera (day 5) held rain and cloudy skies but the captain, Denis and his crew were engaging and lots of fun (bbq dinner aboard!). Off to Heraklion the next day via high speed ferry for a whirlwind time there for a semi-private tour of the Knossos Palace then whisked off to beautiful Chania. In Chania we enjoyed a fabulous sail to Gramvousa and Balos Beach with mother/son duo, Ariadni & Nikos at the helm of their 45’ vessel, with a tasty lunch prepared by grandmother to Nikos. Other activities were a Cretan cooking class, olive oil press and bottling facility tour, and wine tasting at a small winery. George was an accomplished driver and narrator for that day. The last day featured a walking tour of Chania with another Ariadni, equally knowledgeable and delightful as the other guides. We only wished the walking tour had been closer to our arrival in Chania rather than at the very end. Two flights later and we were home again.

The dark cavern of the bath which featured black lava rock, black commode, and minimal lighting was less than desirable BUT it gave insight into layout of old cave houses that are sprinkled about the island. We were surprised we had to climb 3 steps to get onto the foot of the bed which was elevated quite high off the floor (to accommodate a view to the caldera if one chose to sleep with open window?). It was a once in a lifetime stay here but we wouldn’t choose to stay here again…not a negative, just not a repeat for us.

Kimkim has done it again — Siena helped my friend and me put together a bucket-list trip to Greece, including Athens, Paros, and Santorini. Siena did a fantastic job listening to what we were looking for and balancing the different paces and interests in our group. Highlights included a food tour in Athens, a cooking class on Paros, and a guided hike from Fira to Oia in Santorini. We saw and did so much that I would never have found on my own, and I'm so grateful for Siena's knowledge and connection to local operators in each place. It made me feel like a more informed, more responsible visitor.

What really impressed me this trip was the communication from the kimkim team. Two instances stand out: the very first morning, the driver scheduled to pick us up at the airport marked us as no-shows and left without us. The kimkim team called us immediately to verify that we had, in fact, arrived safely in Greece. They told us to take a taxi and send the receipt in for reimbursement — the money hit my bank account just a couple days later. We also ran into some bad weather that forced us to change plans on one of the islands. Lea and the team were on it — they kept up with notifications from the local guides and called proactively with suggestions about how to restructure our schedule. Knowing that someone was looking out for us brought me a lot of peace of mind.

This is my second trip with kimkim, and it won't be my last!

I enjoyed this hike more than anything else we did on Santorini! Lilly was a wonderful guide, and I really enjoyed talking to her about how Santorini's history and how tourism has impacted the island. And the hike itself was a wonderful way to see "behind the scenes" of Santorini. For someone like me easily overwhelmed by Fira and Oia, getting outside of the towns was a welcome change. Walking through a volcanic landscape is a very cool experience, and I'm grateful that I got to see a different side (sometimes quite literally) of the island. With the right shoes and plenty of water, I found the level of physical activity very doable. It felt good to do something so active.

Santorini

I very much appreciate this tour — I learned a great deal that provided context for the rest of my time on Santorini, and our guides brought us to places on the island I would not have visited otherwise. In my opinion, the villages we visited were more beautiful than Oia, and we had the space to actually enjoy them. The only reason I didn't give this tour five stars is because it felt a little bit like our guides were trying to sell us on Santorini. They'd guide us to different picture spots and ask if we liked them, for instance, and it felt a little bit like we were on the spot to have a particular reaction. There wasn't really an attempt to find out what we were most interested in or what we already knew; there was a script, and they were sticking to it. It just made me feel a little conflicted to see how much the tour pandered to the social media influencer from abroad. I'm pretty sure our guide convinced the staff at Akrotiri to stay open a little late for us, for instance, which I felt horrible about when I realized it. Like I said, I'm so glad we had this tour, and I would definitely recommend it. I just left it feeling a little bit sad and kind of guilty about how my presence impacted these traditional villages and archeological sites.

This was a fantastic tour, and I'm so glad it came at the beginning of our trip. Our guide, Sofia (sorry if I'm spelling her name incorrectly) was absolutely wonderful. Not only was she incredibly knowledgeable, but she was a pro at pacing — she navigated us to spots with shade and places to sit while she talked to us, and I was really impressed with how she structured the information. We never got too much at once, and she built on her explanations throughout the tour to connect all the dots. I was so impressed, and I learned a ton. Would highly recommend this tour as a way to understand not just the Acropolis, but the ancient city-state of Athens and its golden age.

Holly, thank you so much for the kind words and for trusting me (and kimkim!) with another big adventure! I loved helping craft this Greece itinerary for you both, especially balancing the different travel styles and weaving in experiences like the food tour, cooking class, and Santorini hike. I’m also really glad our team could help quickly when the airport transfer and weather issues popped up — those unexpected moments are exactly when having support on the ground matters most. I’m looking forward to seeing where your kimkim trip #3 is going to take you!

What an amazing trip! We couldn’t be happier with the experience. I would not have thought to choose Greece as a destination, but my brother and his wife did, and with Kimkim’s vision and planning we had the experience of a lifetime! Every guided excursion we took was private and the guides were all personable, knowledgeable, and hospitable in what we came to understand is at the heart of Greek culture. Outstanding!

The pick up drivers were also wonderful and it was amazing to not have to try to navigate a foreign country on our own. We could tell your stories about our experiences in Paris doing it ourselves!

The hotels were all beautiful and hospitable in a way we have never experienced in America. We were made to feel welcomed and well cared for at each in their own special way. Attention to detail was out of this world and everything was so clean and beautiful.

I wish there was a way we could easily provide feedback per tour, but they were all wonderful in their own ways and I will do my best to remember them all.

Thessaloniki - we had two tours, and a rainy day. Our hotel provided umbrellas and our tour guide came prepared with her own.

Private Culture and Food Walk:
Even on a rainy day we had a great time zipping through local markets. During the whole tour the guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to answer our many questions. We toured the open markets, sampled some traditional Greek products, had coffee and pastries at a wonderful bakery, and ended at a restaurant for lunch. Wonderful!

Private Tour of Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki: The guide was so passionate about the displays we toured that we asked if he is indeed an archeologist (he is, among other things). This tour proved to serve as a foundation for the history and mythology we continued to learn along the rest of the trip. We saw some beautiful exhibits and learned a ton.

Private Half-Day Monasteries of Meteora Exploration:
Our guide was fantastic! He grew up in the small town we stayed in (Kalampaka) and was extremely knowledgeable about the caves, monasteries, rock formations, local flora, and he even knew some fun tricks with our cameras to take some fantastic photos. He went out of his way to personalize the tour to our interests. The monasteries and rock formations were beautiful, we got our daily dose of Greek cats, and we had a wonderful time.

Athens Mythology Storytelling Walk:
Guides (and Storyteller) were amazing. It was truly wonderful to hear the myths right in the places they were born to help us understand the history of Greece. The hosts were open to answer our many questions and we learned about the people of Greece as well as the history of the city in such a fun way! The combination of information and dramatization of the myths made for an unforgettable experience that truly helped to immerse us into the culture and history surrounding us.

Private Evening Neighborhood Walk in Athens - Friendly, open, and honest guide knowledgeably and expertly answered our many questions while taking us to parts of Athens we wouldn’t have seen on our own. We toured a garden, saw part of the changing of the guards ceremony, stopped for some delicious gelato, walked a pedestrian street we later went back to shop, toured a church, and ended at a restaurant for traditional Greek mezes (small plates). So fun!

Private Acropolis and Museum Experience- Again the guide was knowledgeable, hospitable, and super friendly in a relatable manner. We started in town and walked through Plaka and the pedestrian street up to the Acropolis, learning about the ancient theatres, temples, and other ruins. We saw cats even at the ruins! (One of our favorite aspects about Greece.) We learned and relearned, from previous tours, about the history and mythology of what we were seeing. It was great to hear different variations of the same myths and really drive home the significance of the myths and history that created Greece and the Greek culture. We ended at the museum where we could see up close what we saw from more of a distance at the top of the hill. Wonderful!

Wine Tasting in the Heart of Athens: I’m not a wine, cheese, or olive fan, but the products in Greece are so different than what we get in the states that I even liked the feta cheese (in slices! I’ve never even seen it like that!). It was a very small group from all over the world in a sort of classroom setting and we all had fun learning how to assess different wines and how their flavors change when paired with different cheeses. Fun!

Private Falassarna and Balos Beaches Day: Wow! I don’t normally enjoy loud and bumpy boat rides, but the water was so blue and in our small RHIB we felt as though we were right in the sea ourselves - it was amazing. I was laughing out loud I was having so much fun. At our first stop there was an opportunity to walk up to a castle (though my husband’s hip was bothering him - we found a private perch and drank some wine and enjoyed the view of the sea while the other guests hiked). It was too cold this time of year to swim, but we were offered the opportunity in a beautiful blue lagoon with white sand beaches. So much fun!

We truly had the experience of a lifetime. The people of Greece are so hospitable, friendly, and welcoming. We had so much fun learning a few Greek phrases and trying them out with the locals. We learned so much, laughed constantly, and can’t stop smiling when we talk about our trip. Thank you, Kimkim, for arranging such an amazing excursion. We will absolutely recommend your services and hope to have the opportunity to use them again.

She was very knowledgeable and we all felt it was a great tour of some of the main attractions in Greece. The next day we met Elisavet who took us on a walking food tour. This was the favorite activity for some of our group with very high praise for our guide. In the evening we met with Fodi who took us for more food and some dancing. His energy was so much fun! Our hotel at Woo Suites in Athens was top notch. The young women who were working there were so kind and helpful. They delivered an amazing breakfast to our rooms each morning (too chilly to enjoy the rooftop dining) and they had lots of great recommendations for roof top bars and restaurants.

We took the ferry to Naxos and I want to note that all transfers went so smoothly! Naxos was amazing . Our hotel was in a perfect location to walk to the water and restaurants. We also had great views from our rooms at Castle Mansions. We had a fun tour on to the island to see some small villages and were able to enjoy some beverages, food and cheese! The marble quarry was very interesting. WE also enjoyed a full day on a RIB boat to see some other beaches and Antiparos. The weather was a little cool but a few of us jumped into the Aegean Sea! Our final tour was to a farm and winery . This was another great way to enjoy more views of the island and try to great wine and food.

Our last stop was to Santorini. WE stayed in a villa with for a view of a sunset. We had nice breakfasts delivered to us each morning which were very good. We had a great tour of the highlights of Santorini with Panos! The stop at Akrotiri was quite a surprise to us and we loved it! But, the best stop was lunch at Atlier. The food was absolutely amazing and the people there were so gracious! ON our final night we were schedule for a dinner/ sunset cruise. The weather for 2 days was overcast so we had low expectations, BUT we were blessed with an amazing red sunset that even the crew was taking pictures. What a great way to end our holiday in Greece.

Angeliki - thank you so much for an amazing experience. I feel you really listened to our needs and built the perfect itinerary for us. We also appreciated you being available to answer questions for us while we were there too.

Hi Gwen,

Thank you so much for such a thoughtful and detailed review — it truly means a lot.

I’m so happy to hear that the trip struck the right balance for your group, especially as first-time visitors to Greece. It sounds like you really embraced each destination in your own way, which is exactly what I hope for every journey.

I loved reading about your experiences with Alaina, Elisavet, and Foti — I’ll be sure to pass along your kind words to them. And I have to agree… that food tour in Athens tends to become a favorite 😊

It’s also wonderful to hear how much you enjoyed Naxos — from the villages and marble quarry to your day on the water. And Santorini sounds like it gave you a truly special ending… that sunset sounds unforgettable, especially after a couple of uncertain days.

Thank you as well for your kind words about the planning process — it was a pleasure working with you and your group, and I’m really glad I could be there to support you along the way.

I hope this is just the beginning of many more travels to Greece for you all — I’d love to help you explore even more of it in the future.

Warmly,
Angela

Overall, we had a good trip in Greece. The weather didn't cooperate while we were in Crete so we didn't quite have the Greek island trip I had imagined, but most of the activities were really fun and the accommodations were really nice.

We had a few hiccups that I wish the team had been more proactive in dealing with. The hotel in Chania had a confusing parking situation with a reservation in a private lot, that was not in any of the KimKim trip plan docs. We went to the lots recommended in the Trip Plans and they did not have overnight parking. For these kinds of issues, I wish the travel agent could've handled time sensitive issues. The hotel was ok with dealing with this but it was frustrating.

We also had one tour that was terrible. It was sold as a small group tour of the villages. It was 18 people on a bus for 6 hours - not what I expected from KimKim. The stops of the tour were ok - only one (a church built into a cave) seemed special. The others were odd and not really useful for getting to know the locals or the island. The lunch was terrible for me, having a gluten allergy. It was super busy and they could only serve me green beans and salad. On a private tour, I would've been able to talk more directly about what I wanted - this was a huge party for lunch in a busy restaurant, and I couldn't have a conversation with the staff. My kids favorite part of this tour was that they could zone out on the bus. Not great.

The other activities were great though - the visit to a family farm was a highlight. The family and staff were lovely, and THIS was how we got a sense of what local life was like on Crete. We also had a great time in the mosaic workshop. The women there were so kind and open in sharing about their experiences living on Crete, and we got amazing souvenirs out of it. My husband and I really enjoyed the tour of the Knossos Palace - our kids didn't, but not the guide's fault. She was great.

Our family trip to Greece had the perfect blend of activities, education, relaxation, and time on our own. The transportation provided helped to keep everything stress free and on time. In Athens, we had the perfect location at the Athens Manor Houses, which was located right in the city center. The hotel was in a small alleyway and allowed us to walk everywhere we wanted to go but was quiet and tucked away for when we needed our downtime. Our excursion to the Acropolis was the perfect amount of walking, education on both history and mythology, and sight seeing. Our guide was wonderful and she was very aware of the fact that we had 2 children (9 and 12) who might need rest, water etc. Our trip to the Temple of Poseidon was the perfect evening activity with additional history and mythology provided as part of the tour, incredible views. and a stop in a quaint beach town with time on our own for dinner.

KimKim organized our flights from Athens to Chania, Crete and all logistics were seamless. Our stay at Casa Delfino was my favorite part of the trip, with a gorgeous suite and the absolute perfect location in Old Town. Although our gorge trek had to be canceled due to weather, we were able to pivot and make the most of it with the KimKim team offering up alternate suggestions although ultimately, we adventured on our own. Our final excursion was a private tour of Balos lagoon and a 3 hour stop at Falassarna Beach where our guide Nasos took such amazing care of our family. We couldn't be happier with our trip overall!!

Working with Penny from KimKim was a pleasure from start to finish. She was so easy to work with and I could tell she loves her job. She created a dream trip with everything we asked for to make my husband’s 50th birthday feel special. Every hotel and excursion was spot on, and the private transfers made everything seamless and worry free.
We decided to travel in the shoulder season over Easter and Greek Orthodox Easter and Penny made sure the places we visited were open and ready for visitors. We normally plan our own trips but since we wanted to visit various islands and we were traveling in the shoulder season, I wanted to make sure we didn’t encounter any issues. Plus, who wants to stress over a two week celebratory trip? I can tell you we never stressed on this trip!
We stayed in Athens, Chania and Heraklion in Crete, Imerovigli in Santorini, and Chora, the port in Naxos. Crete and Santorini were our favorite islands. All of the islands had their own beauty and the Greek people were always so friendly and welcoming. Greece is very clean and crime free, at least where we were! Our hotels were amazing, our favorites being the SanSal next to the old town in Chania and Cresanto Luxury Suites. Both were very close and walkable to restaurants and shopping. The guest relations/ concierge were wonderfully helpful and fun to talk to. The rooms were spacious. SanSal had the best sea view and Cresanto had the best shower with instant hot water the whole trip. There was a bit of construction happening at Cresanto while we were there but the room was soundproof and it didn’t bother us. They are expanding. we had our own plunge pool but the weather was still chilly so we didn’t take advantage. I will say it is not very private as the walkway is right in front of the pool so even though it is private from the suites on either side, anyone walking past can see right in.
Our favorite experiences on the trip were a Cretan cooking class in the White Mountains booked by Penny, and experiencing Santorini over Greek Orthodox Easter, specifically the Pyrgos Fire Celebration on Good Friday. I’m only calling out a couple things but we did have an excursion almost daily, most coordinated through Penny at KimKim and they were all great. The cooking class stood out because it took place in a sweet couple’s home who were so hospitable, we had a wonderful small group, a cozy fire (chilly, rainy day) and got to feed the neighbor’s sheep. Mr. George, the husband even shared his personal barrel of wine with us which was wonderful and he had put it in the barrel when he was 15. Great stories and family history. Fun and informative tour guide who interpreted for us as Mr. George didn’t speak English and his wife (very sweet and head chef) only spoke a small amount but was hilarious. We ate what we made and everyone had a wonderful time.
The Pyrgos village lights up on Good Friday with giant candles over every possible surface. It made the most beautiful and memorable sight, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus. It’s an entire procession through the hilltop village along with burning crosses. Wall to wall people as Greeks come from all over to celebrate. This was a once in a lifetime experience and something only done on Santorini. If you find yourself in Santorini over this timeframe I encourage you to attend this must see event.
Penny, thank you for putting so much thought into our trip and for always being available to answer questions. Oh also, we did very much enjoy the couples massage you arranged for us in Athens! Thank you for everything!
I highly recommend KimKim for planning your next trip! I’ve already recommended them to everyone I’ve talked to about our fabulous trip and I hope we take another trip where we are able to use them soon!
